So, hello everyone wavey

Following on from the other thread I'm happy to announce that we've got something sorted to step in where the Manor Farm Barn meet left off. I say 'we,' cos it ain't just me.

Location:

  • Railway Street Industrial Park, Gillingham, Kent, ME7 1YQ
  • Googlemap here

The reasons we're going here are:

  • Easy access from all the main roads in Kent, and from London. It's about 12 PH minutes from the M25.
  • Considerably bigger than the Manor Farm Barn's parking area, fully enclosed and fully concrete. There is a large 'pay and display' right next door that could even be an overspill car park if absolutely necessary.
  • KDS Keltec is on site and opening up to give an insight into exactly what goes into a 100 hour long car detail. Like this PH'ers Ford GT.
  • Lepsons Wheels are on site and opening up to give an insight into the processes involved in quality wheel refurbs.
  • Plenty of space for a number of catering vans - that's right folks, the usual PH fare of tasty porcine morsels and hot Oriental herbal infusions WILL be available!
  • EVEN IF it gets too busy, there's a variety of Maccy D and cafe type establishments within a puny PHer-suitable walking distance.
  • Oh yeah.... and there's a 700 metre long tunnel en route........ hmmmmmm............ and it has a roundabout at BOTH ends............. scratchchin

So that's that. Obviously this is a free event we've put together for PHers only - try, please, not to cross post to other forums. Exact timings are TBC for now. Oh, and I'll be happy to to take a committed group of early rising petrolhead nutters there via 'the long way round.' Sort of like a Kent Run, I suppose. Again, details TBC.

Well done Jay, it was only because we had a few (over 100) inconsiderate people that we are not doing it anymore, looking forward to being a punter rather than an organiser.

A shame because you did an excellent event!

Would have preferred a date between Christmas and new years but I'll be there. Looking forward to this, I hope the machinery in the Carpark matches the last one!

We wanted a date between Christmas and new year , BUT the estate (other trades) would be open for delivery's large lorry's etc , car park full of the other trades staff cars , the overflow carpark would be busy too , and lastly the lepsons site (6 buildings) near on half the estate would be shut for maintance and cleaning etc .

The way christmas lays on a weekend meant it was the only sunday available before everyone is back to normal working week .

this way we have the entire site to oursleves the overflow car park will be empty , the only trades open will be car related (that PHers use) and the roads will be empty first thing too.

We will have buildings at either end of the estate and in the middle for toilet facilities , and even have an empty unit to park Hot drinks van under cover if the weather is poor.

As you come out of the tunnel towards Gillingham, watch out for the speed cameras at the traffic light juction (two sets of lights with GATSO in-between )....they work!! & opposite the traffic light juction is the new Medway police station. BE AWARE wink

+1 I'd be interested in this.

Can I just turn up on the day or do I need to confirm on that wiki page?
