I've just arranged a drive out on Sunday 16th May and have got 15 cars taking part so far, any other TVR drivers fancy joining us?

The idea of the drive is to give you the chance to open it up on some good (hopefully quiet) faster roads and then have a slow cruise thru some towns making lots of noise, ending in a pub lunch on the river bank.

Starting at the Polish War Memorial on the A40 at Northolt at approx 11am.

Heres the provisional route.

Head up the A40 thru Gerrards X, Beaconsfield, then across through Wooburn Green, Cookham, heading to Marlow, out of Marlow thru the high street and across the bridge back towards the bypass. Travel along this until the Henley turn then drive to Henley, across the bridge, throught the town and then out towards Wallingford. Around Wallingford ring road (optional for a fast blast) then back thru the town and out towards Shillingford, across the river again and then up to Sandford for lunch which is approx 3-4 miles south of Oxford.

The pub I have chosen is on the river, has a big car park, tables outside ovelooking the lock and serves a wide variety of food all day. From there you can choose your own routes home. The drive should take about 1.5 hours.

If anybody wants to join en route or meet at the pub then thats fine.

I will be booking tables at the pub a week in advance. After that its up to you, but I cant see them turning people away.

I'm not going to be online much for the rest of the week so if you fancy joining in just whack your details on here and mail me as well and I can pick em up later. From there I'll send out exact details & directions in about a weeks time.

Regards,

Matt

Thanks Gazboy, I'm going to check out the route this weekend for possible hitches. I'll keep an eye out.

You do know there is a speed hump in Wooburn Green now, quite a biggie iirc, where the two roads meet going towards bourne End. I can't get over it in the MRT.

No problems in my Chimaera.

It might be worth putting this in the Thames Valley local section. We had a very good turn out to the meet we arranged on the 25th April.

I'd love to come to this but i'll be at uni finshing my exams off

OK then here comes Marlow bridge. Ed will you pay if I get it 1/2 an inch out on one side? I could go through the wider side of the bridge or take the quicker route down the A404!

Just got back from Hols, but I should be able to come along. If so I'll go to the meet at Beaconsfield.

I am now doing a perfect impression of a red-neck (plus arms, forehead, nose etc)

Good drive home & greetings to whoever it was in the green Cerb near Wallingford

A very good day out.

Keeping up with the Tuscan S ( Hi Stuart) was 'interesting' and the pop's and splutters it was making was incredible.

And blimey Roy, you didn't half shift down the M40 on the way back. I noticed I was doing 11* at one point.

Here are a few photos.

A rather busy car-park

This looks fun!

Sorry, no decent convoy pics.

Thanks Matt. Excellent route - well organised.

Well I certainly spotted you rumbly lot coming down Marlow High Street.

I was commenting to the girlfriend as we drove along in her black TT annonymouswagon that today was a day for toy cars and how I'd not seen many TVRs yet (saw a nice grey Tamora in Marlow 10 mins earlier though). Then there was this noise ... and there were 10 TVRs all rumbling past. Made my day

I'll be back into the fold soon ...
