Have A Super Supercar Family Funday At Dunsfold

Dad's Day Out is back, but with a new name

The fast car-tastic Supercar Family Funday (previously known as the Dad's Day Out) returns on 14th May for its 3rd year - and for 2011 it's going to be even bigger and better than ever.

The Supercar Family Funday (held at Dunsfold Park, AKA the Top Gear test track) is a fantastic event in aid of The Children's Trust charity in Tadworth and has been co-organised by our friends over at Petrolhead Nirvana in association with Club Scuderia.

The main attraction of the day will be more than 100 supercars available for passenger rides around the airfield in exchange for a donation to the charity. You'll get a chance for a ride in a huge variety of exotic metal, from Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Aston Martins, Dodge Vipers and Nissan GTRs to Ariel Atoms and KTM X-Bows.

In addition to the main attraction there are also plenty of other things to keep you and yours occupied:

The Caterham Club will be demonstrating their car control in the shape of donuts and drifting, and will be taking any passengers who are brave enough.

There'll be a chance for kids from 10 upwards to take their first driving lesson in a dual-control car next to a trained instructor, courtesy of the guys from M-B World at Brooklands.

We've also got spectacular stunts from East Coast FMX display team M.A.D. - the UK's number one mountain bike stunt & display team.

There'll be loads more stuff to keep adults and kids of all ages occupied too, including helicopter, hovercraft and fire engine rides, a 'Kids Zone' marquee, slot car racing and even live music - you can find a full list of what's going on at The Children's Trust's website.

Think of it as a PistonHeads Sunday Service with a difference, as not only will you find a huge private parking area reserved for PHers, but you'll also have a great day out while doing your bit for 'charidee'.

For the general public there is a large parking area and advance entry costs are £7 per adult and £3 per child. But PHers will receive the same special discounted entry offer as last year. That means £7 per car instead of £7 per person and once again there will be a special parking area nearer to the action - with space for up to 500 cars. To book your place for that click here:

As an added extra, we're also giving away free rides and entry tickets for five lucky PHers. The winners will get one entry ticket and one free ride in either a supercar or a Caterham (lucky dip).

For a chance to win, send us an e-mail to competitions@pistonheads.com with the subject line 'Supercar Family Funday', not forgetting to include a contact number. The competition closes at midday on Friday 19th April and we'll be drawing the winners out of the PH virtual Homburg and notifying the lucky winners within 24 hours. Good luck!

For the event itself, gates open to the public from 8.30am and the event starts at 9.00am. The first rides on the circuit will start at 9.00am and will run until 4.30pm (but no later due to noise restrictions at the airfield), so make sure you arrive early.

In order to book rides and other attractions in advance you'll need to follow this link.

Please try to book your rides in advance as there's a limited number and they are likely to be sold out way before the event as it will be advertised in the national and local press, so book early!

Here are a couple of videos to whet your appetite:

The drivers list is drawn from those who have supported this and other charity events in the past, mainly from Club Scuderia and Petrolhead Nirvana members.

As Pete said, officially the list for this year is now full however there is a reserve list running and although we can't guarantee a drive there is always a chance if others drop out...which can happen anytime right up to the day itself.

We have had over 300 requests for 120 spaces this year although the reserve list is currently 20 cars long

this is such a brilliant event for a fantastic cause- can not really justify how good it is in words.... All the best to Bachi and the team as know this takes an extreme amount of organisation to make work. I wont be able to come this year as down to go to my folks 50th Wedding Anniversary, chance of them breaking up before then is slim unfortunatly..All the Best

I fancy going to this wanted to go last year but never got round to it!

Just a quick question...do you get to pick the car you have a ride in or is it randomly allocated?

Thanks,
Tom

The 'standard' cars...360/430Ferraris, Gallardos, vipers, GT3's etc are randomly allocated.
The blue ribbon cars, Enzo's etc are chosen by you

How do you go about being a driver next year? I'd love to spank my GHT-R around there! Especially for a good cause smile

Had a great day out last year.
Has it changed from sunday to saturday?
This may cause me some problems but with advance warning I hope to still make it.

Will be booking tonight, once I've found my wallet eek

Quick question though, this is a couple of days before my sons 9th birthday so I was wondering if he will be old enough for a ride in one of the cars and, if so, whether we would need to bring a booster seat or similar?

I did that last year. The one near Windsor! The worst part for me was the wait!
