So looking forward to this!

I've been looking at the route notes today, you guys have no idea whats in store!

if anyone wants to join us at the last minute let us know as we're signing off on numbers with the hotels and Eurotunnel in the next few days.

I've just come back from a similar trip to do the passes around Switzland, Italy and Austria and really enjoyed it, by adding a Spa trackday at the begining and the Nurburgring for a few days on the way home I think we managed the ideal holiday for a petrol head.

Hope everyone who goes enjoys it as much as we did.

Checked the routes out last night using a GPS Visualizer overlay on google earth. It's a bit limited as it gives the routes between the waypoints as the crow flies rather than down the actual roads, but you can kind of guess/work it out.

But Damn!

Daaa,aaa,aaaam!

You can also use Tyre to view and create TomTom routes in Google Maps or Google Earth.

Tyre is a good supplement to the tasks of planning and coordinating. There are some, er, 'issues' though ;-) Chief among them being that it just doesn't like most of the Swiss passes. Fluela pass for example, it thinks you would be better off doing a u-turn 1/2 way across, going back towards Italy, heading North and then loading the car onto a train and going through the mountain to Davos. You can also forget the San Bernadino, the San Gottard, the Grimsel, the Sustenen, the Furka and as for the Tremolo, it laughs in your face.

As for being Dutch, we won't hold it against you. :-) See you on the road Femme. thumbup

You have to switch to walking mode (second tab in preferences of the map view), then it will let you go straight over the passes smile .
