Looking forward to this. I am a big fan of this new type of Sunday Service event where we get to see some the PH'ers cars in action rather than just parked up. Not sure I fancy taking on the PH fleet mustang but I will give it go.

Not been to a Sunday Service before and won't have anything special to take down the strip, but only live down the road and would like to attend, what's the process i need to take so that I can attend and what's the cost ?

Put your name down on the registration list. Cost is a bag of haribo payable on the gate.

Took my name of the list now.

Got another speed event on the same day.

Have a good day out for those going along.

Removed myself from the list as I'm not 100% I'll be along-possibly working. If fortune does favour me, I'll add myself back on.

Doesn't look like it will be full unfortunately! Still will be a great turnout hopefully.

Looks like only 30 people signed up for running? Hmm tempted now, but not sure I want to risk the clutch.

Balls. I've lost my passenger side wing mirror (well, the glass)..

Daft question but this won't affect me being allowed to run will it? I'm not going to be able to get a replacement in time for Sunday as it's one of those heated / tinted things rolleyes

Just give it a go, it'll be great fun! For newbies they recommend starting as if you were on a normal public road, and then putting your foot down afterwards once you're going. Just focus on improving your times each time you go out, don't worry so much about beating the guy next to you! That'll be my excuse if I come second every time anyway...

You've got to drive like an idiot to kill your clutch, I did plenty of runs years ago in my 4x4 Sapphire Bosworth and Cavalier Turbo, both of which have transmissions made of chocolate.
I launched pretty quickly by holding it on the clutch bite then feeding out the clutch smoothly and quickly with no problems at all.
Its only if you side step it with high revs that you're likely to do damage.
Its great fun and highly addictive!

Can anyone tell me. If I booked to do some runs, do you join a queue of cars, and move along until your at the front ?

I'm bringing the family and don't think they'll be happy if I disappear for 1/2 hour before each run to queue.

Thanks

Yeah that's the case when i've been to the pod before, but I think this one will be fairly quiet compared to other events i've been to so not much of a queue.

Anyway, They'll have plenty to watch and do while you're queuing.

We'll be issuing a pass for you to get in and taking a register on the gate. All of this will be explained in an email that will be sent out during the week before the event.
Anyone had this email? My first PH meet so not sure what happens prior to the event.

Have to say I usually receive them fine, but not received anything yet - unless it is being sent out around lunchtime?

Not yet, but we should receive them shortly. I believe..

I've not been down the strip yet either, but am looking forward to it! First couple of run's will definitely be a slow launch, then once the clutch is out FULL POWAH!

As has been said, should be a good turn around on the Strip as not too many people have said they're doing it. I'm sure there are more who're just waiting in the wings, but regardless I imagine those taking to the strip will get at least a few runs done in the morning.

At the same time, see if I can't beat anyone down it in the Zed smile

Having not been to Santa pod before, how close can we get to the viewing area if not racing, still close enough to see everything, or is it for ticket holders only?

There's a grandstand on one side, (Not sure if this will be open)
And a long grass bank the other side the length of the track, viewing is great from both.

Grandstand is nearly always open. Cant see why it isnt.

Ps tickets not available on the day for drag racing (phoned up yesterday).
Email tickets so can be bought anytime up to the event I think.

Apologies if this has been asked before - I had a quick search and couldn't see - but can my dog attend? Is a deal breaker for the gf.
