That's good to know as its the Sunday I'm going on.
Does anyone know of a timetable of events on the Sunday? It's the F40 parade lap I'm most interested in.
The parade lap is Sunday, from 12:10 until 12:40. With the F40s at the front. I shall be on the lap too, hopefully, look out for my somewhat less impressive Hawk. I'll be lurking somewhere near the back.Does anyone know of a timetable of events on the Sunday? It's the F40 parade lap I'm most interested in.

That was fun. Glorious weather and an amazing array of F40s. I made it around the parade lap and on the old start/finish straight I even managed to get into third gear!!!
The Mrs who was watching trackside said that the the 68 F40s behaved themselves, but the Lambo crowd held everyone else back and then blasted down the straights.
Just as it should be!!!!
If anyone got any photos of my red and white Hawk on the lap, I'd love to get a copy.
Thanks.
Oh, and who was the chap who shouted "Blibby" at me as I left the circuit? Soory, but I couldn't stop in the stream of traffic.

Not an F40, but going through my stuff (very quickly) this one jumped out at me...sort of sums the Friday/Saturday up...

I've a couple of on track photos of you Blib - I looked out for your car as I knew you were looking for some. I've some static shots on stand too.
Great. Thanks for that. I really appreciate you taking the time and effort. Post them up and I'll nick copies off of the thread if I may?Oh, and then go on your flippin' honeymooon. You've obviously married an angel!

One word about the Classic......
Busses..
What a shambles. The que for the infield busses at the AA centre on Saturday was farcical. We ended up walking to The Wing past an irate security guard from 4GS (Al Quaeda will have no worries at the Olympics if they are all like him)
Nice having vintage open top busses but I'd rather have had more modern ones so you didn't spend so much time queing for them.

That would be great! If you use the "email me" button on my profile that would get them to me. Thanks once again
Hey Blib, I took a couple of shots of your car from the pit wall. Drop me a PM so I have your e-mail address and I'll send them over for you buddy. As an aside - did anyone get a good photo of the Lotus clubs on the outfield by the old Bridge corner? If anyone can get a good shot over to me I'll try and get it published in a couple of the Lotus mags. Bonus points if it's got my car in it
Just wanted to say that I thought the Silverstone Classic was as much better event than the Le Mans Classic. More focussed grids so better racing, a clearer more logical timetable with smaller gaps between races (I realise that the shorter track helps in this regard). But also much freer access to pits and paddocks, better range of side shows and trade stands, better range and quality of food in the village (not that that's saying much), good bus transport (though a certain earlier poster might not share this view!), more access to grandstands. No stupid wasting of everyone's time with a farcical "Le Mans" start that wasn't the start of anything except a long wait.
Group C cars were fabulous.
And it was sunny. Ahhh.

We were to be placed next to you on that slope. But were moved by the organisers at the very last moment up to the hardstanding. We kept a wary eye on you Lotus boys, especially early on in the weekend. One of our guys reported that a couple of your members slid perilously close to a raised manhole cover on Saturday.
Pleased that you all got out alive !
