I can confirm there will be a meeting at Wickham at around 10am on the 28th. There are a number of makes coming along so I hope we get some more PHers to join in.

A small few of us met there recently and had a fantastic drive out.

Its the Hampshire Nurburgring!
Also has Shell optimax and a good pub at the start/finish line so a better pits stop than most circuits too!

One lap takes about 50 mins.

It may only appeal to me so much as I do the roads every day and know whats coming up after each corner (ie, a short overtaking straight).

I'll email the route to the organiser (Geoff?) if you like, or I may just have to join you instead! (TBA, may still be doing Xmassy things such as sleeping in front of the TV etc!)

I might be up for this - hopefully the roads won't be as slippy as they are now!

I also knwo the route Dusty speaks of and it's a good'un - might have a plan for an extension too but I'll need time to recce it first.

I am interested in that route you mention and hope you can make it on the 28th. If not maybe you could e-mail me with it so we can enjoy it as much as you obviously do!

Cuzza was one of the suspects on the route when we did it.

I will email you the route, but give me time, don't have autoroute here and Im going down the boozer with cuzza tonight so will find out the extra bit.

OK, have come up with a route - if I can find somewhere to host it, I'll put the map up and will do some directions later.

Some of the original roads I had planned to use were very narrow so we'll use a bit more of the A32 than planned.

How many takers have we got for this?

Now i've got a tyre on each corner again I intend to be there. Hope that route is not too narrow as my beast is 6'3" wide.

Don't go near the TVR lot in Bournemouth in a Saxo you will be severely frowned upon

Steve - most of it is 'proper' two way road with the odd narrow bit so you should be OK (the narrowest bit is probably the road past the Horse and Jockey pub if you know it). I did the original route yesterday and that would've been too narrow for you! BTW we met at Cherbourg after Le Mans I think so be good to see you again.

sti, mick - see you there!

Suggested stops for a drink and chat.

There is the Percy Hobbs on the A31 at the Winchester middle bit or there is a couple of Pubs in Wickham at the end of the drive.

Which shall we stop at?
Perhaps both?

We could stop at the Percy Hobbs to regroup.

FYI: For the Percy Hobbs when you get to the end of the A272 you can only turn left onto the A31 dual carriageway. Go all the way around the round about at the end and double back. At the next roundabout is the Percy Hobbs.

What do you lot reckon?
Could decide on the day when we meet at Wickham.

BTW: Great route.

Should take about 1hr 20mins.

If the weather is really really bad then we can always just go straight up the A32.
But we can decide that when we meet at Wickham.

Cheers - it contains most of my favourite bits of road (those of you who've been on runs with me before - watch where we come out on the 272 )! I had a fun checking it in the 306 yesterday so should be even better in the Elise especially if it's dry

I suggest the Percy Hobbs for a stop off and regroup as parking Wickham could be tricky when we get back.

Any chance a mod could change the title please to add Hampshire PHers to the start - might generate a bit more interest. Thanks!

Looks good! Can't change the title unless someone else can! Depending on what time we depart (hopefully 10am) I may have to peel off when we stop for a break and go off to London for lunch (relatives just told me).

Geoff, If we stop at the Percy Hobbs it will be ideal for you for London as its right on the M3.

(Thread title already changed).
