Are you the second coming of our Lord? Or should that be second helping?

Matt

I only got there once this year, rather than the more customary two.

Obviously a popular place.

Mebbe I'll come along to VW -- dunno about the missus though, as there'll only be about two weeks before she drops come the 14th. Aside from anything else, it might make getting out of the cerb a bit more difficult than usual!

Another chance to spend £3.50 on standing welly deep in gravel/snow talking to obsessive car morons.
Drinking luke warm shandy in a pub with the atmosphere of begginers night at a swingers club.
And tutting as irrisponible fools doughnut their way around the top end of the car park...

...I'll be there!!

Mr_Tony's suggestion of the Rose & Crown up the road is a good one - I'm gonna check the place out in the next few days or so...

If it is better than the VW pub (which I suspect it will be) then the meet will be moved to there.

Just to put in my 2pennorth. I doubt there is a pub carpark in the VW area that could cope with the numbers you had last time.

I'm happy with the VW lake car park at £3.50. If u don't favour the Wheatsheaf, there is Chiquitos Mexican restaurant across the road and a burger van by the lake about 2 minutes walk away.

Seeya there!!

Rose and Crown can easily cope with 30-40 cars as there is 'overflow' parking on the grass next to thorpe green. If there are going to be many more than this then the 3.50 car park at VW is probably still the obvious choice.

You assume, mr tony, that there will be no other customers? On a Sunday?

well after we turn up there won't be any other customers!!!

Good point, but the Rose and Crown can easily park double what I've quoted using all it's parking spaces and the grass overflow areas...

Food there is good, not exactly dirt cheap though, but then again it is Surrey!

Plenty more pubs in the general area, efforts can be made during this coming week to finalise venue. I'm not available for recce runs this weekend though as I shall be

only possible issue with the ROse and Crown is lack of interior space, if 40 cars turn up and we ahve say 60+ people for lunch it's going to be much more of an issue than the parking. The Wheatsheaf despite being a a less nice pub, is nice and big...

I don't think Mr Tony assumed anything about other customers on a Sunday.

After all, we are talking about SATURDAY 14 December.

You just can't get the staff......

Virginia Water lake car park -at the junction of A30 Egham -Camberley / B389 Thorpe-Virgina Water / A329 Virginia Water-Ascot road. OS Landranger map 176, grid reference SU981687. Sorry, haven't got a GPS reference....

You will need £3.50 in change to enter the car park. Pub (Wheatsheaf)next door(it was alright the week after it opened!!), Chiquitos Mexican restaurant across road and burger van in park 2 minute walk away.

Will be there, despite hangover from party night b4...

Thanks Melv. So what's the best way to get there from the M25 ? We'll be coming from the M40 anti clockwise.

Sorry Preacher - can't make it. I really must do
some Christmas shopping Saturday as I'm off to
America all next week. It could be petrol station
presents for everyone this year...
