As I will be full Aero in my R500, I shall be wearing a helmet, and shall bring a spare too.

Sadly it's an open face helmet that I use for my Enduro motorbike, but I do have my Spy goggles that have a photo chromatic lens.

Of course it's for my big fat head, so it's an XL size, I hope that will be ok for the young Uns that want passenger rides.

I will, also have my VIO-POV camera set up on board for both forward facing and passenger facing video of the day too, I will post it all to my you tube channel, so the passengers can see the fun they had!!

I'm ooot. frown

3 months after the new engine went in, my ECU has given up the ghost, so i'll be spending the day with a soldering iron. I was really looking forward to stretching the legs of the new 4.3!

Still, probably not a problem as nobody seems to want to go out in a Chim and if they do they head up to the TVRCC
I got a few people out in mine last time, although they mostly wanted to ride in Tuscans.

Can someone just run through the procedure "on the day"? I'll likely be getting there about 9am, so I hand over my ticket & £5 at the gate,
yes

Zumbruk said:
then I need to park the tow car (where?) & offload the Westie,
if you're there early enough you can get the tow car and trailer very close to the parking near 'Gate 12'

Zumbruk said:
Presumably, there's some kind of signing on
I don't know about that but you'd probably do that at 'Gate 12'

Zumbruk said:
then find our gate (Gate 12 - the last one)
you've already found 'Gate 12' by now

Zumbruk said:
Are they signposted?
depends when you get there, 'Gate 12' is the last 'Gate' and is a double 'Gate' so if you're at a single 'Gate' you’re at the wrong end - GT40 club should be at 'Gate 1'

Zumbruk said:
Do I need to make myself known to anyone?
yes Steve and the booking desk at 'Gate 12'

Zumbruk said:
And what are these lanyards of which you speak? Is there a driver's briefing (there was the year I came last)? When & where?
cervini said:
To be parked up and attend drivers briefing at the gate for 9.00 is ideal
Lanyards (you’ll know them when you see them) are what allow you on the track they are to limit the number of cars on the track at one time

Zumbruk said:
(Oh, I'll be wearing a helmet and bringing a spare. The wind in a Westie at 100mph+ is pretty fierce...
our Dave just uses goggles and he has no windscreen (or head of hair!)

Zumbruk said:
And I remember the HGVs - do they still cut across the track on the final bend?)
they did last year

better to ask questions than not - I hope I've given the correct answers

No helmet required then. Any idea which gate to head to for Lotus Drivers' Club?

checky git not even on our 'Gate' - you'll have to join us now I know your car wink

and now you want information given to you on a plate that's already in the thread, worse than a teenager - http://www.on-your-marks.info/?page_id=16

the Lotus Car Club may have their own rules so check with them, Steve is the organiser of this Gate so can say what he wants as the organiser of it

That's very useful, thanks. I guess I'd better be at gate 12 for 9AM!

No, one meaning is to complain or whinge but the other is unpleasant and foul!

Now let's get back on topic.
