have you never heard of quality time apart the secret of a long and happy marraige (often the more quality time apart the happier)

talking of which Mrs Beer will be back soon from her overnight stay at the seaside, just time to tidy up a bit

So i assume the mystical 'Gate 12' is the PH gate?

I am convoying up with a friend that is on the VX220 gate. I hope to be there at about 8:30-8:45. Is that about right?

Do I need to bring anything other than myself? What about driving license?

Do I still have to pay £5 if I am taking people round?

yes called London Tunnellers, end 'Gate', opposite end to 'Gate 1' Ford GT40 Club

up to you, a bit earlier might miss more of the entry queueing

you need your invite pass, make it visable to speed up your entry, I'm not sure about driving license as I don't drive at the event, bring it just in case

up to you, you could be asked for a £5 donation at entry, you might not with the pass

you'll have a great time, the passengers are mostly not petrolheads so expect them to enjoy their ride with you but not necessarily to know much about your car - but some will

see you there biggrin

We've just got back and I'd like to thank Steve for arranging this. It was a great day out even if I have to head home slightly early.

Seems that the XFR surprised everybody that I took round, or it was my driving that put them all on brown alert.

Good to meet you all too, I don't post much but was made to feel very welcome by all.

Cheers.

Cracking day.

Thanks to all concerned, especially Steve for organising, Nige for arm-waving & people herding (and strapping people in!), Ash for his sighting lap (bloody hell, that Jag goes) and Mrs. Nige for the excellent & unexpected picnic lunch!

And thanks to all the punters for their £5's! Let's hope we raised shed-loads of money for the children.

The Westie ran faultlessly all day (apart from a slight cone moment on turn 2...) But I need more power. Only 115mph on the straight!

Well done Steve and thanks to everyone who helped out both beforehand and on the day.
The Cobra didn't like the queuing very much and started to get a little hot under the collar, which caused some coughing and spluttering off the line until some cold fresh fuel was pumped through.
The Wishes 4 Kids rides were particularly good and it was great to see their faces during the rides. I have some great videos of them from my in car camera. I'm more than happy to send copies to parents/guardians if they'd like them. Does anyone know how I might go about letting the parents know?

Took a load of photos yesterday at Brunters. Feel free to take a look through them. If there are any of your car which you'd like, message me with the file name and I'll email you a high res copy. I have others as well which I didn't have room for on my Flickr account, so if your car isn't on there, I might still have a photo of it, so if you're interested, message me and if I have a picture, I'll send you it..

Brilliantly fun day!

Put my name down for any events like this. Taking the children out after lunch was far and away the highlight for me smile

It's just a shame that after lunch no-one was interested in the 350z! Maybe I need to put a chavvy mustang badge on it to get hoardes of people queuing up :-P

your car isn't about straight line speed, althought 115 is good considering it's lack of aerodynamics, your car is about getting through the turns and missing the cones biggrin

thank you for coming along and giving rides and entering into the spirit of the event thumbup

thoroughly enjoyed the day after the morning debacle, finally got on track in the afternoon and had a great day overall, highlighted by the run out in the green rally car thing, was truly awesome with some great driving! did anyone see what happened with the 4x4 crash? my step sister was in it and apparently it crashed with a tree?!?!?

and again any pics would be great to see (again especially any of track of my gold wheeled blue chim)

is this open to anyone? sounds like fun! also I am guessing rides in my golf aren't that desirable frown

VR
open to anyone who offers and is invited, it's an event for ASDA employers and associates so most aren't petrolheads, it's about giving rides to those who chose ride in your car, obviously some cars are more popular than others but all can muck in and add to the spirit of the event in many ways

Sounds like you all had a fab day, gutted to have missed it.
One consolation was that myself and Josh went for a hoon on hot, slippery mountain roads in a Panda hire car. What were the words from my son ' drive it like you stole it Dad' - classic.
Sure you all raised loadsamoney.
