Cheers, apart from a missing engine cover she is totally stock. Not sure winter tyres helped though but they are useful back in Wales.

Here's my onboard footage, unfortunately doesn't really show the cars I was up against apart from the final run where the Griffith just beat me over the line due to my rubbish reaction time....for the record I was just quicker than him over the quarter by half a second :-)

Excuse my over excited first run against the Anglia that I thought was going to absolutely destroy me, I got a little carried away in the moment

What difference does it make if there are shirtless stella drinkers watching?

Your on the line on your own in your car , whatever does or doesn't happen next is purely down to you, you can't blame spectators.
TBH I agree with the above. Likewise the normal RWYB events (not linked to USC and the like) aren't really full of the people you describe. Just general enthusiasts, professional drag racers and some motorbikes for good measure.

It's good fun.
I totally agree with this. If anything, a general RWYB day has very few if any chavs at all.
Ive been to dozens over the years and always really enjoyed them.
But yes, I stay well away from the USC's and Max Power type events

Hi MPoxen,

That was me in the M5, had LC engaged and it jumped from 1st to 3rd :-(
Great side shot though, it was so close, you pipped me by a nose....great fun. Your car sounds lovely.

Thanks, I was happy with 13.2 @105mph on my last run. Keen to go again with Launch Control and see if I can break in to the 12s!

Really happy my not-so-exciting commuter car found its way in to a shot; thanks for the photo!

Here's the video of me getting schooled by the S3:

It's a crazy thing.

When I used to go to the VW shows there years ago, one of our forum members had a Polo G40 with turbo conversion, Megasquirt, subframe and LSD etc. That little tin can was running faster 1/4's than a Ferrari 360!

Id still rather have the F430 over the S3 though.... :-)

The reason the S3 is so quick isnt really its power output. Its haldex with DSG.... equals a stupidly quick 60' time.

A friend had a golf R DSG... it ran sub 3s to 60mph, not just by luck, it would do it every time due to Haldex/DSG. Wouldnt have been anywhere near as fast as a manual

Hi Amzey

You were the Singapore Grey F10 ?

Was the guy in the silver RS4 with you or did you pick him up on the way home ?

I spoke to the Zafira owner.
He was a nice guy, but he claimed 350bhp WHEEL horse power (about 380 crank?)
Based on the times I saw it was not as powerful as he claimed I believe.

well.... it's been run on three rolling roads, all within 17bhp..so not far out! Best was 358... But, it just can't put the power down nicely as it sits, even though it's got launch control mapped in it, traction control.. but no LSD. Once it's rolling it's pretty good for a people carrier! At the most recent live mapping session, when the bigger intercooler went on, it's pretty consistent power-wise, always seems to be strong mid range..but a combination of very tired suspension and not being used to launching it on Sunday didn't help! But it's still a very quick courtesy car....!
