I decided to drive the route today, some interesting road selections that were not all TVR friendly wink Just a quick thought, but might it be an idea to split into smaller groups as some of those roads will be struggling with 70+cars in convoy smile Apart from that had a nice drive until my alternator packed up about a mile from the finish!!!!
You just need to slow down a bit for the un TVR friendly bits wink
Did you use the itn or the notes? I haven't tested the notes, so would be interested to see if they are okay!

Might be a good idea on groups - I'll decide on the day depending on the actual number that show up smile

Oh and shame about the alternator - did you get home okay?
I used the itn files with TomTom, they worked superbly thumbup

Called the AA who turned up within 15 mins! Stuck one of his spare batts in and I drove it to a TVR specialist in Crawley with the an AA escort smile Was back home 2 hours after it failing and was most impressed with the quick response smile All I need now is to get the car back before this sunday so I can go to the next breakfast club.
Glad you got back alright and wow, very quick from the AA!

Forgot to say that I couldn't complete the route as one of the roads was closed, think it was Crocknorth Rd or one that led to it. Had to go upto the A246/A24 and back to Dorking as I wasn't sure if I could get back to the route.
This says that the road should be open by the 11th smile

Does anybody know whether or not .itn files are compatible with Navamn units? I was stupid and chose price+bluetooth > functionality...
This might help:

(I could have used the "let me google it for you" thingy wink)

Just a heads up lads.

Sunday 11th is the annual Surrey Harley Boot Sale.

It in centred at the Pipbrook Car Park from 06:00 onwards.

So expect a LOT of bikers to be whizzing about! Think Bike?

Best to fill up the tank night before hand as well!
Thanks for the heads up smile

Lets just hope that there aren't too many bikers around!

I live in Dorking and IF the weather is sunny the high street will be packed with shiny Harley's
by 09:00!

Might make a decent photo shoot for you, mixing it with the bikers on the way back?
I think that we'll be finished earlier than that and I've got to be in Guildford for 9:30, so not much of a chance for photos unfortunately frown

(also, we'll be avoiding the Highstreet in Dorking on the way back through smile

I think a few people are going to watch the F1 in a pub in Morden - I'm sure that a few others can shed some light on it..

Sunrise should be around 6.15am next weekend.. Any reason why the start is so late?

Given the amount of cars, will some groups be heading off earlier ?
No particular reason, but if people want to do a smaller run before, that's fine by me smile For anyone that wants to set off at 6:30, put your name down in a new list smile

If you mean Crocknorth Road, it was supposed to re-open today. Not been that way yet but will be over to B&C on Friday that way so can check, unless someone else is going that way before then.

A thought re the start point: Denbies has been used the last two years as one of the starts for the MSA Classic Car run, so I'm sure if you approached them about using their main car park they might be OK. As we'll all have left before they open, can't see they'll have a problem with it. It'll save 90+ cars trying to turn in the access road before the rail bridge.
Tom, would be appreciated if you could do that.

Re start point: I'd rather keep things simple and keep everything unofficial. It won't be too hard for everyone to turn around though!

doesn't look like it - let's keep it simple and scrap that idea smile

Don't want to sound like a party pooper, its looking like there might be over 100 cars!

It is great that there is so much interest and GF Williams has done a great job of organising so far.

But is this going to be manageable? Just worried this might get a bit out of hand with so many people and attract a lot of unwanted attention.
As Funk has said, so long as everyone is sensible, everything will be fine smile

Winshent sent me and email which is very valid last night. As there ate so many 'noobs' around, please consider this overtaking rule we try to implent:

when overtaking a normal car that is not part of the run, keep your right indicator on for as long as it is safe for the next car to overtake. When it is no longer safe then should cancel the indicator. Obviously only overtake when YOU can see it is safe to do so also.

Sorry I can't send the route out at the moment, I'm on my phone and won't get a chance to be on my pc till this evening...
