Dear All,

I have now confirmed with Chateau Tilques that we are dinning IN THEIR RESTAURANT on Saturday night.
It would appear that some people who reserved their room did not mention
the Lamborghini Club at the time of their booking.
Therefore, they don't know which quests will be dinning on the Saturday night (I'm not entirely sure why they need this - sorry but my French is not that good!!).

Anyway............

Can EVERYONE who has booked overnight accomadation at Chateau Tilques
please email me the following:
1 The name in which the room is booked in.
2 How many people staying in each room.
3 Your Email address.
4 Your piston heads login name.
5 And your mobile phone number (this is so I can contact you, and won't be released to anyone else).

Many thanks for doing this as quick as possible

Regards

Ian

Dear All,

Things are getting quite full at the Chateau - and only a handfull of places on the shuttle.
So if anyone else is thinking of coming.... get your skates on!

Best Regards

Just a couple of weeks now.

Anyone got any ideas on how to pass Saturday? I've already suggested a visit to the old GP circuit at Reims, which is about 2 1/2 to 3 hours away, depending on route. There are a couple of eating places nearby too if anyone wanted to take lunch there.

Does anyone have any other suggestions or recommendations?

For anyone who doesn't feel like travelling too far, there's a large glass crystal factory at Arques, which may appeal to any ladies on the trip.

Dear Chateau Runners!!!

Sorry for going quiet on you all - but rest assured myself and Lynn have been very busy sorting out a proposed itinerary for Saturday.
For the last two weeks we have been emailing the Calais tourist office and Town hall.
The plan is...... (please note that this has yet to be confirmed with the tourist office due to French "red tape"!!).
Saturday morning: head down to Calais town - where we display our cars for a couple of hours. We then head on to Chateau de cocove for a spot of light lunch and a tour of their wine cellar ( inc some wine tasting!).
Then head back to Chateau Tilques mid/late afternoon (which is only 5 mins away from Cocove).

Sunday: head down to Boulogne and then follow the coast road back to Calais.
If anyone knows of a good place that we can stop for lunch - PLEASE let us know!!

The above is only a proposed itinerary - you are all welcome/free!! to do what ever you like.

Evening meal at Chateau Tilques: Some of you may be aware that they wanted us all to have the same starter and main course!! After much discussion
they have agreed that we can all choose from the menu - but this has to be done ON THE FRIDAY.

Apart from that we're all set to go (fingers crossed for some good weather).

Best Regards

Ian

Dear All and Yacouba

Jonathan (aka Yacouba) has kindly suggested this restaurant in Boulogne: http://www.la-matelote.com/

Looks very nice!!
It also has secure underground parking for the cars!

I have asked Jonathan to contact them on our behalf to find out if they can fit us in.

Me and Jonathan will keep you posted.

Regards

Ian

P.S The lunch menu starts at 25 euro's and goes up to 75 euro's

Dear All

We need a show of hands for the following!! (as it involves me giving out another large deposit!!)

Jonathan (aka Yacouba) - for those who don't know him, he is our "official event photographer" and lives just around the corner from the Chateau. It is well worth buying him a drink and taking him for a spin in your car if you can make the time - as his pictures are FANTASTIC! - and he is doing this just for fun!!
Well I'm glad to say that his suggestion of the above restaurant has come up trumps!! The Restaurant has had a Michelin star since 1982 (for those of you thinking god that's going to cost us!! their menu's start from 25 Euros and go up to 75 Euros). They also speak v good English and were so so helpful when I phoned them today.
OK - in a nut shell have a look at www.lesjardinsdelamatelote.com
They also have secure parking for our cars.

If you fancy it - please either PM me / call me / on add to the thread. I have to say Majority rules! but as already mentioned - you are free to come and go as you please at this event. So likewise, if you know you won't be doing this lunch can you let me know!

Many thanks to Jonathan again

Regards

Ian

I am to go to see at the restaurant this evening. The menu is 55€. Iann can hold tomorrow evening (the restaurant is closed in the morning).

I asked for the carpark, it is a small carpark, on the other hand, vis-a-vis the restaurant, there is a deprived carpark sousterrain. I asked the guard to reserve 20places for Sunday. It is ok.

I must confirm that to him the next week.

Hi again.......

Ok it'll be booked this weekend.
The car park takes 60 cars (and our parking will all be reserved) so there is plenty of room for us.

We're all set - although, we are still awaiting final approval
from the town hall regarding showing our cars off in Calias. If we get "black balled" at the 11th hour it won't cause us a problem - we'll just do something else Saturday morning!!

Directions: Lambochick (Derek and Lisa) have VERY kindly agreed to do the directions for us again this year. These will be handed at the Services on Friday Morning - Thanks guys!

Best Regards

Ian

P.S By total fluke, I am told that "Matelote" means = Bull fighter / Matador!! Spooky!!
