If anyone wants to rent an big american motorhome for the weekend, I have a couple available! I know it's not really in the spirit of things but you can't beat a hot shower, a poo on your own toilet and watching the Monaco GP in comfort! Either that ot there will be an entry charge to watch the GP in mine.......

Bit disappointed to see that Pistonheads has chosen a picture of someone smashing a car up in order to demonstrate how 'fun' the event is.

Oh keep ya hair on.. that someone is me

The picture is from an event on a previous PF where teams had to dismantle as many bits as they could off a car (supplied by a breakers) in a set time limit. I brought an axe. Joke. Funny. Haha. You know?

Have a look at this page to gain a better idea.

By chance did you ever complain about the MG adverts making the sporty cars looking like they were going too fast?

But the cars were scrap cars from a breakers yard. What difference does it make whether PH'ers break them, or the breaker breaks them? Either way they end up as razor blades.
It was also great fun, I know, I was there, were you? There were literally hundreds of petrolheads having a great laugh with their mates. Obviously not your thing at all.

Well as long as you understand how much 'fun' some loser hoodlum is having if he decides to smash your car up...

If it was some sort of competition, it kinds of makes a bit more sense, but the picture on the pistonheads article just looks like someone mindlessly smashing a car up for the hell of it, which is the sort of thing I would generally frown upon (and indeed would make me want to beat the hell out of anyone who so much as scratched my pride and joy for their own 'entertainment').

Fair enough zebedee! Dont confuse those sorts of people with pistonfest though, it was really good fun last year even without the car smashing competitions!

I don't think I've seen him since BT&P 2004

Won't be supporting the 2CVs at PF either (racing at Snet though, Aug 11th)

Cheers Chris, I'm sure there were none of those sort of people (scum) at Pistonfest, as I said, I just didn't think it was the best picture to capture pistonfest 'fun'.

About ten minutes earlier the scrappers were joined by a Rover 220 turbo. hehe It was pretty funny, I think Pikey was the only person to hack a part off a car with an axe, rather than unbolt one.

Missed the last one, hopefully will make this one if im in the country. thumbup

Quick question. How come on Pistonfest.com it says £30 per head, but in the shop they're £35 per head?

Is it my fading memory or are the tickets more expensive than last year??
