Chester's hardly "a little further north" - it's in the North! It's a good 2hrs from the Midlands, so will be 4hrs from some of the people going to this one. Not really practical for a day out, sadly.Better still why dont you guys come north to our shooting ground (North Wales Shooting School)at sealand manor near Chester www.shootingschool.net Make a day of it they have a club house and may put food on.
But feel free to set a Northern Shoot up. I could probably make that one too.

Much as I'm sure we'd all love to venture North, I think it's probably a little impractical for most of us. It's only 186 miles each way from my place to NWSS, and a mere 7 hour round trip!Better still why dont you guys come north to our shooting ground (North Wales Shooting School)at sealand manor near Chester www.shootingschool.net Make a day of it they have a club house and may put food on.
The majority of participants are quite a long way further south than I am!

Wow, only just seen this.
We will be there Clive. I'm expected up north after though so I won't make any pub activities.
[p.s. sorry we haven't made any recently but Le Mans then Goodwood then manic levels of gardening have thrown me out can you email me the next date we're shooting please?]
p.p.s I'll bring a trophy of some kind along (but nobody else but Dan can win it)

Are we all still on for this then ? August 4th?
Of course we're still on for this! Especially now Dave's joined the fray.......and he's shot the layout before (not that it will help him much though )
If everyone's OK about times, I suggest we start at 11am, which gives everyone plenty of time to get there. I'll e-mail directions to all those that are coming.
As usual,12g & 20g cartridges will be available on the day, if you're bringing your own, fibre wads only please!
PS Dave, your e-mail on your profile is invalid!!!! Next "regular" shoot is 21st July.

Quick question Clive - what's the proposed start- and end-times for this?
We're having trouble organising Mrs Havoc's 30th party the weekend after, and are thinking about bringing it forwards a week, want to check I could still fit both in...
Cheers,
Martin.

If we start at 11 I would expect us to be finished about 1 ish. We can always put you on 1st for the last set of 25 birds so you can get away promptly. It's always a lot quicker in this format because everyone shoots 25 in a row, so that cuts the amount of changeover time dramatically! It doesn't seem that there's going to be a huge number of us anyway. If people want to shoot more than 100, they should be able to anyway, they'll just pay a pro-rata for the extra birds.
That's absolutely fine Clive...I was more worried it was going to be a 3pm finish or so, which would have made it very tight.
1pm will see me home by about 3, which gives me 2+hrs spare to help out and get changed. So I won't need to 'jump the queue', so-to-speak, but appreciate the offer!
I've not shot yet this year, so really didn't want to let this one pass by, but a few friends are being awkward about the 11th...
See you then,
Martin.
