Just been over Ranmore and Crocknorth Road is open again. Lot of loose stones and tree chippings on the road from where they've been working, so a bit slippy near the bridge.
A few other things to note. Roadworks in Dorking High St so single line working and slow thru the lights; weekdays it's been backing up to the cockerel roundabout and along A24 and A25. There's a 10km run with 300+ entrants at Denbies - race starts 10am but registration is from 8am. Plus there's a Harley/Buell etc autojumble in the Council car park in central Dorking from 6am. So basically it'll be busy at the start with more people about than a normal early Sunday morning. The route loops back through outskirts of Dorking, so we may hit it twice.
I think that we have to still meet at the same road. Park along the side of the road.A few other things to note. As for coming back through dorking, we're not actually going through the town the second time, so should hopefully be able to avoid the traffic.
In regard to up on ranmoore, so long as people drive slow where they need to and leave a big gap between cars we will be fine

Not sure I can make it now, have a wedding reception to go to tomorrow.
But looks like you have a lot of cars going!!!!
I'm really not sure 110 cars will fit on that access road, especially if they have a official run starting there as well!
So could I suggest an over flow point of the car park behind Dorking Halls??
Just Google Dorking Halls and click the Maps.
LOW cars might have a problem with the huge speed ramp!
If the worst comes to worst, but we'll decide that on the day. The speed bump is fine - I've had very low cars get over there in the past quite easily (just go over slowly). From an Ultima to a Gallardo...But looks like you have a lot of cars going!!!!

But assuming all 108 cars turn up I think I'll aim to get there early otherwise you'll be in abit of a que for 15mins while everyone starts the run!
Oh and GFWilliams, I hope this is going to be a regular event throughout the summer
Always good to be early is my philosophy Oh and GFWilliams, I hope this is going to be a regular event throughout the summer
This event is the last event that I will be doing until my exams are over.. I've got bigger and better plans for a run in the summer

I'm glad thy people enjoyed the route and what an amazing turnout! I look forward to seeing some pictures And videos from the run as I appeared to miss most of it being stuck at the front!
Poledriver - looks bad mate, I hope you get it sorted soon If you can remember where it was, it might be worth trying to claim from the council...

I have a video from the start until it gave up 50 minutes into the run, so most of it.
It's 4 gig in total and I'm no video editing guru. What shall I do with it to get it online?
I think there are 2 options. Either compress it using the software which cane with the camera to reduce the file size, or try uploading to vimeo (Which I think can accept larger file sizes than YouTube). It's 4 gig in total and I'm no video editing guru. What shall I do with it to get it online?
Hth
I'm glad people enjoyed it
it will be a while before I can sort out another (it's quite time consuming and I've got exams coming up ), but when my exams are over I will sort out a better route - more flowing and less bumpy
what are peoples opinions on having small groups (about 10 cars each) which all take a different route and end up at the same point? Then we can have different types of route for different cars

After discussing with my dad about how we could improve upon the run we came up with some great roads in the area. I won't be able to organise anything until the end of June though...
I look forward to seeing the video from the volvo - I didn't realise how little you see when leading a run!

Sorry chaps if the speed through some of the 30 zones was a little much - I mainly set the speed by how good viability was though. Obviously it is a little different on an early Sunday morning to rush hour, especially when coming out of the villages when clearly clear
I'll set the pace a little slower next time if you want

I might as well stick the route on the forum now:
Written instructions, with pictures to help, of the route: http://www.gfwilliams.net/misc/Surrey%20Run%20-%20...
Here is a .itn file for all those with sat-navs which support them (I would recommend that you use it): http://www.gfwilliams.net/misc/Surrey%20Run%20-%20... (right click>save target as)
