Just been looking at the map (still not looking likely but got to think positive)
OMG!! Where is this place, off the edge of the known world? That's quite a treck, even by WA standards! Worst part is it would be half way around the M25 from Guildford(ish) in either direction yikes

Now, Thruxton would be nice (hint ) does PF move around from year to year? Even Brands or Silverstone would be better, does anyone actually live in that lump that sticks out to the NE?

eta, might have to put "Goodwood events" on my favourites, only about 15 miles from "home"

Actually, Pimms and/or Bombay Sapphire & tonic have become my preferred "summer" drinks. May in England... probably not then, would more likely be Scotch or brown beer with a roaring fire going

Try starting from just north of Portsmouth.

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.... the wittle londoner has to drive round the M25....

Norfolk is along way for most, but - the decision was taken to link up with a 24hr event so to minimise disruption to others, and stingray who are invovled with the 2cv 24hr had some part in organising pistonfest, or at least did last year.

theres only so many circuits that can run 24hrs, and very few 24hr events... choices limited to donnington, silverstone & snetterton. with i think the Le Mans cars at donnington, britcar at silverstone, or the 2cvs.

Oy! not so much of the "Londoner" I'm a "Man of Kent" I'll have you know (albeit living in the colonies) (and I did live in Harrow before emigrating)
If I do get there I'll already have spent 18 hours on a plane thanks Home base when in England these days is at my brother's in Surrey. Even Donnington would be less of an ordeal.
(Yes I know it's not just for my benefit, it's 9pm here so I'm 3/4 of a bottle of red ok?

Norfolks a long way from any where, but the 2CV racing is worth watching at any time.

For all those complaining about the drive to Norfolk (and I'm coming from Surrey too), console yourself on two thoughts....

1. Some people will be driving there in 2CVs! The Hampshire 2CV club apparently set of a week last Sunday!

2. Friday lunchtime... Dartford Tunnel... All the windows and sunroof open... first gear... second gear... brake! first gear... second gear... brake! ...and repeat until emerging in hillbilly land

Good idea.
What will that sound like with an Ultima?
Will have to do it with the door open to get the full effect.

I have visions of Steve in his Ultima trying to shake Emma in the Landy and failing miserably! We didn't manage it on Monday right through central London, after all! laugh

I've got a stong feeling the MGC won't make it

Not too happy really, had an email on the 16-Feb telling me the shell was being 'dipped' at the moment, and it would be collected in 1-2 weeks.

On the 12-Mar it was still at the dippers and he expected to collect it in 2 weeks time.

I've chased progress again, and guess what, it's still at the dippers, but his welders will be ready to take the shell at the beginning of next week, after which it will have the remaining bodywork repairs, then go off to be painted (I wonder how long that will take) and finally back to him for fitting out.

I'll then need to get it MOT'd and on the road.

Considering he said it would take about 3 months, and that was when he took it away in November, i'm a bit upset that it looks as though it won't be done such is life.

Spose someone had better take my logo away then...
