Can I get a confirmation this is still on. I've booked the time off work now and really want to use the Vmax to try out a few things on the air intake.

Can someone let me know.

PS - I'll bring cash on the day BTW

Hi LuckyP, yep, it's still on, the same as you, I am going to pay in full on the day. Cheeky (Matt) who is organising it, returns to the UK today so hopefully should hear an update from him.

I too have taken the Friday off. As well as the Thursday to clean my car so it looks nice, but that's cos I am sad redface

Please tell me you are taking the Ultima??

Cheers

Hi chaps,

While I've been away Lindsay has told me that a combination of demand and availability of helpers means he's concentrating the event on the Vmax, led drives of the TG circuit and TG laps in a Caterham-esque car of Jim's, but no longer doing the rifle. A shame, but I hope not too much of a disappointment to those of you on here.

You WILL need insurance. Jim will ask you to sign a waiver. And all he has said to me on noise is that cars must be "road legal".

Sorry not to be the fount of all knowledge on this today but I got back from Canada this morning, am completely out of it and am still catching up myself.

We (GB) won the World Championship BTW. I'll bring my medal if you promise not to drive off with it at high speed.

Lastly, have all of you on here had communication directly with Lindsay? If not, please get in touch with him!

Matt

Hi Cheeky

Regarding insurance, after reading the waiver, to me it looks like we do not need track day insurance as such, we just sign the waiver and say we will pay for any damage caused? My insurance company will not offer me any track day cover at all!!

Is that the case? Apologies if you are jet lagged wink

Well done on the gold!

Cheers

Let me the first to thank Cheeky for a fantastic day; even the weather was perfect.

My fastest VMax run was a crazy indicated 196mph which was a rather more believable 178mph on the Garmin. Still bloody fast for what was effectively a standing 1 mile run!

Even more fun were the led laps following the Caterham-alike. I'll definitely be returning for some fast timed laps.

Some great people and cars and even the best BBQ food to be had a motorsport event ever... biggrin

Thanks for organiding the event Cheeky.

It's to hear that some of the Italian car owners are beginning to re-evaluate their opinions on the Corvettes.

I wait in anticipation for the shooting day.

Thanks to everyone who came along for making it an enjoyable day.

For those who know what speed I got to on the runway, I managed an extra 27mph (indicated) last night - a landmark speed, but not on a UK public road, I hasten to add.

John Munn took a lot of photos on the day - I can't quite believe how many - and he is offering to burn a CD for each person for £10 to touring team funds. He says the least impressive set is that of the Mustang (not because of the car), but to help eveyone gauge whether they would like to buy a CD of pics of them/their car, he took the following:

Corvette (Black) - CV06 VET - 50 pics
Matt Corvette (Blue) VV55 VVV - 114 pics (incl kit car driving)
Corvette (White) - FJ07 ZRF - 57 pics
Ferrari 355 (red) - TBZ 355 - 129 pics (incl kit car driving)
Ferrari 360 (Red) ?Steve - W382 RJA - 92 pics
Ford Mustang GT -S222 SWE - 5 pics
James Dallas VW Golf - 125 pics (incl kit car driving)
Jaguar XJ8 (Red) - N20 CHG - 31 pics
Masarati (Blue) - WJ52 JXA - 75 pics
Mazda RX8 (Black) - YD53 YOM - 14 pics
Vauxhall Monaro Silver P40 WOW - 18 pics
Porsche GT3 - Jeff - LG07 VHM - 72 pics
Porsche Boxster - Lindsay- Y398 JGS - 12 pics
Ultima - Black - X8 GTR - 96 pics
Alex Hunter in kit car - 32 pics

If you would like them, he is on john(at)johnmunn.net.

And he spun it so well right in front of us!! biggrin

A great day Matt, and thanks for organising it. If ever there is another one, I am definately in.

Although next time I won't let enthusiasm get the better of me and go out on the first set of led Caterham laps with 2 Ferraris, a GT3RS and the Ultima, only to be called in 2 laps later before I am lapped redface

It was my first ever Vmax and track day in my own car, I had a blast. Great people too.

Will get my photos ordered!

Cheers

Great day, great company, and thanks to all the organisers.
