maybe something a couple off weekends away?

ill pull out an slr or an enzo. tbh its only fun if theres loads of people about, conversation and meeting new faces is the best bit.
Looking at the PH calendar 9th is clear.

Or a few weeks later to gauge more interest smile

Give it a whirl smile

Maybe there could be a few Hoons/ Tunnel Runs to VW wink
Actually there is / was a Thames Valley and Surrey meet at VW on the 9th all arranged and done for this date. We had it all sorted way back on the 3rd July [edit 6th July]. Maybe some had forgotten, but the intention was not to promote this and cause a massive local problem.

See here -> http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

First rule about VW meet is don't talk about VW meet.

@oggs, perhaps you would like to quote the rest of the thread for completeness, and not take my comments out of context, thankyou. The comment about the alternate venue was in answer to ;

Well I'll come along however as Kinky said, what you going to do to stop it getting silly? or is there another very big car park close by that anyone can think of?
I urge you to consider the previous organisers advice ;

VW was canned because it just got out of controll. The sunday service has replaced it but it just not the same nothing will beet the old VW meets. As long as im not working that weekend i will pop over. If you are expecting large numbers 30+ it would be advisable for someone to contact the Park wardens to warn them we are coming
Anyway, the cat is out of the bag, and the snowball effect of this being advertised across lots of other car forums has occurred.

The question is, has Rob or tbobs (or anyone else) actually contacted them to warn them we're coming...

I aint called anyone. i was not expecting it to be a massive massive event i just wanted more than 20 odd peole to turn up. As in the more people to meet the better it is. If need be i can start contacting the either the tank place or VW to warn them. The other place is within a decent distance of me car park so ill still bring the machines out and im happy at both?

Any suggestions by organisation vets?

Nope think he's just getting confused, it was tbops that suggested it and the rest of us have just said yeah that's a bloody good idea and started the thread in events etc.

tbops, I'm not sure who contacted the park before, but it's probably best to let them know we're coming, I'm not sure how many people will actually show up, but from the other thread it'll be over 100 at the very least.

We have loads of space, but although i can get away with 20 cars in the car park, i can't claim that 100 cars in the carpark are all my customers hehe

Great place, arsey landlords, sorry guys frown

tbops - might be worth giving the pub nextdoor a shout too - The Wheatsheaf (?) to let them know. It gets manic in there when we turn up.

Did actualy call vixpy too. Top bloke, as its only my second meet was a bit worried with the snowball effect especialy as i started the topic. Hopefully we wont put too much strain on the carpark. I expected the lady incharge to go "oh no not you lot again" but she just took the date and told me the right person would call back.

Only if you stay over 5 hours hehe or just block the barrier or take yourself a tool kit to get the blasted thing off.

You're complaining? The last time I went along to VW and didn't get there late it was pretty much better than any motorshow I've ever been too, so I'm happy to pay £5.

I think it's now much better though, free upto 1h30m then it's not just one charge from memory.
