The Petrol Blue Clio 182 is mine. Thanks for noticing it. Being parked next to the gorgeous Lotus Esprit I'm surprised it even got a look in, let alone mention.
You're indeed correct as to just 29 produced and only 22 produced with both cup packs.
I did see yours among loads of other Renaultsport's. Did you or anyone else get any piccies as it would be good to get a nice arty shot from one of the many great photographers that always attend?!
Admittedly I didn't see it until the end of the day when the Esprit had gone! But as us Renaultsport owners are nerdy (well I am about them) it immediately jumped out at me. Mine was on the very first row of cars that arrived near a blue 200 and 182 Trophy, there was at least another 172 Cup there so you might have seen that instead. No arty shots, (even though I do dabble with the DSLR) I just took a quick snap from the rear on my way past to document the fact I'd actually seen one! You're indeed correct as to just 29 produced and only 22 produced with both cup packs.

So how many PHers who made it on to the reserve list, Actually showed up???
I think SS should be on a first come first served basis, yes the list is still required but to them people who Really want to be in there, it gives them a chance..
And maybe to the point of keeping a database who attends, an who fails to show.. (alot of work/hassle Im aware) but then it gives others a chance next time...
The current way of doing things is perfect, and the best you can expect from Sunday Services. I suspect some of these events must be local to you then, as I can't imagine that many will travel long distances with the chance of not getting in; I certainly wouldn't. Yes, getting there early would be a good idea (as I did, 10th car in and maybe one of the furthest away) but that isn't always practical and these events tend to happen in the south (or getting that way).I think SS should be on a first come first served basis, yes the list is still required but to them people who Really want to be in there, it gives them a chance..

Garlick - Have you tried Bentley (Crewe), might be worth considering?
Just another one on here to register my thanks to everyone involved with today, it was pretty special to hear a V10 F1 car in real life for the first (and last???) time! Even my missus enjoyed herself, and she's not exactly car-mad! I will certainly make an effort to attend one of these again in the future, thanks again!

In the end I did get in for free - a kind PHer, realising he had a spare seat, checked the reserve list for someone located between him and Silverstone, and emailed me. More people doing that would be a good idea. I wish I had before the
Porsche SS.

I missed out by 24 places, but still think it is the fairest method available without ludicrous extra work. About 20-25% above me dropped out in the few days before the event, and the evening before I was moving forward about every two minutes. So I wasn't far way from making it. Clearly over 200 people bothered to delete themselves from the list, and I am sure turn up rates are factored in by the organisers when setting the max numbers.

Being the "Eco minded" people we are, we obviously encourage "carpooling" with someone on the list in the most exotic car you can find between you In the end I did get in for free - a kind PHer, realising he had a spare seat, checked the reserve list for someone located between him and Silverstone, and emailed me. That and more people is always good

I agree that first come first served wouldn't be viable.
Out of interest how many cars came through the gate today? Or alternatively how many no shows were there? At 708 I reckon there is a fair chance 8 cars didn't show. Didn't bother us today tbh, as £15 was bugger all for the morning we had.
That's a number we never actually know. On the day we'll have between 5-8 chaps checking the same number of lists lists as cars arrive. When you arrive we check the list and let you in, but even if we crossed out names as guests arrived we would then have to merge all of the lists in circulation on the gate (manually) to get a definitive number. Judging by our ticket pile we did very well on numbers today, ditto the overflow car park.
Will post photos in a minute had a great day and some lovely cars. Must admit one of my favourite was the monaco blue 172 on the PH carpark with the chromeish speedline wheels it was absolutely immaculate and I am very tempted to get the same wheels for mine it really stood out to me as it was just so well maintained even had the wheel re-done inside.
Thanks to everyone responsible for a cracking day out today. I really enjoyed seeing so much car porn in one place and some entertaining racing and practice.
I had forgotten how much I dislike all of the barge boards and extra fairings on the older F1 cars though. Too much for me.
Cheers all for the photos too. Excellent stuff.

I am SO SORRY I had my name down for this and never turned up! I got up early all ready to go and excited, biked round to my Dad's house to borrow his car (mine's broken) and found it completely dead due to a flat battery! It has keyless entry and he left it unlocked in the garage. Disappointed doesn't even begin to cover it!
I do hope all who did manage to attend had a good time!

Yesterday was my 1st SS and my 1st at lending a helping hand at the gate checking people in through our make shift coned area. I'm sure some people thought our coned lanes was an Autotest area admittedly the muppet in the hi-vis jacket was as much use a chocolate fire guard, I’m sure he was a highly trained individual, but in what I don’t know
It was a superb day, although I wish this was a 4x4 forum as getting on your knees to be at eye level to check names is only so good the following day, especially when your 6’+ !
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day, although, the highlight was probably having a chat with people on the gate and trying to get a smile out of people, oh and seeing an F40 on track
Fantastic day out and congratulations to everyone involved in organising the day. Hopefully we also collectively raised a shed load of money for Mission Motorsport
Great day out.
