M6 1mph slower than a 996TT X50

That was the suprise of the day for me, other than that absurd ML63.

Gents... The 193mph of CGT was all it was going to do, it hit this speed on each of 8 outings. I thought I saw 195 on one of them but apparently not.

Porsche put a lot of effort into making the CGT stable at its top speed of 207mph.
It has a Cd of ~0.4 so it is a veritable "brick wall".

I checked some data which I logged from the last vmax. In the run from 270kph to 300kph my 993tt (not exactly aeromiester either with its Gt2 arches) did it nearly 2 seconds faster and in 80 metres less than the CGT !!

The F1 has a Cd of 0.32 and its engine is stronger with its 680NM @5500rpm cmpared to the 590NM @ 5750 for the CGT -the F1 has a bigger area under the curve and it weighs ~300+kg less.

Amazing how you get caught up in the spirit of it all and I forgot that I was 25mph off the double ton, in something without any airbags or electronic safety devices that I knocked up in the garden shed!!

(Can't understand the 155 limited thing with BMWs, my speedo was reading c172, time beams said 164 and the car was still pulling. Perhaps it's all Bavarian conspiracy)
