it's going to be a cracking day tomorrow expecting good weather and even more cars

today was excellent, Friday slowish but very steady

a Caterham done the most rides today upseting us Westie guys as he beat Dave by one run (Dave claims he had to stop more often for petrol and there was only one pump working! at the BP station)

Good news many years ago a Westie done one more run than today's Caterham smile

clap for everyone involved so far

Had a really good time ,and a great weekend away .

Top guy nigel, pleasure to speak to ..Thanks for the pre warm up lap of the route, much appreciated ....
Also young Ben who was taking some of the photo's, was good to chat about the cars and your dilemma you have with what to buy next ...lol.

Cars were awesome with a mixed bag for sure , and just as i wanted to book a ride in the atom , it got too wet and had to halt the runs ........

Friendly atmosphere all round and a big thank you to the marshalls for doing a great job over the weekend .....

Thanks to everyone who took part as passengers, drivers or other helpers over the weekend. Thanks to your efforts the provissional amount raised at the show is £30,000. With many of the passengers agreeing to have their donation gift aided the charities should be able to add another £7,000 to that total. Once again many thanks and I hope you and many others will join us at next years Sporting Bears events.

Agreed - massive thanks to all who did the real work organising and running the event.
Us drivers had the easy part just hooning around with cars full of dedicated "petrol heads", chatting and grinning all day. I was constantly amazed at how enthusiatic, grateful and knowledgeable all of may passengers were. Next year I will definitely be a passenger myself at least once! The XJ220 was booked up solid and the Muira SV escaped me as well.

See you all next year.

Thanks to all those who organised and helped out.
I was nowhere near as busy this year for some reason, although everyone who went in the car had a whale of a time.

Another fantastic event, the weather much, much better than forecasted even very sunny on Sunday, great fun, and hard work for those on the desks but well worth it

Neil great to meet you sorry you missed an Atom run before you had to go, it did run again later in fact its last run lasted quite a time – I hope the small staple comes out of your tyre without damage

Drew on other days perhaps you’d have been busier it’s just the way things go, you helped by giving rides and having your car there, thank you
I think it was your parking that may have put some off laugh - just joking

Mick’s given the figures above, a big thanks all of you thumbup

Keep a look out on the Bears web site www.sportingbears.org.uk for next year’s events including;

Supercar – Gaydon – 28 June
Cholmondeley Pageant of Power – Cholmondeley – 18, 19 July
and of the NEC

What a great weekend, Graham has just recovered from helping load people in their cars all day while I had the easy bit of just driving, and touting to the crowd a bit! Graham managed to get out in the Lola, third time lucky for him there and we all met some new and old faces from other Dream Rides events. As a Dream Rides organiser at Cholmondeley Pageant of Power I can fully support the comments above for all the teams hard work in the build up and on the days at the NEC and to those drivers who helped at CPoP isn't it nice to have a tarmac covered garage!!!

Mick, the ladies and the lads who did the hard graft booking and loading what a fabulous effort and a very successful year in difficult conditions.

Looking forward to Gaydon next year to start it all again.

On the saturday I managed 1 ride in the morning then nothing until around 2pm when I was in and out 4 times in succession. Sunday I think I managed about 8-10 rides and was knackered.

Your car looked stunning so I'm surprised you didn't get a few more rides - I know Harsh was in & out a fair bit in the 360! (BTW - I was the chap in the T350 who had a mini sound off with you & the yellow Testarossa Sunday afternoon)

Again - I'll echo what everyone has already said, it was a great day and a fantastic team effort to all involved. Every driver I spoke to was really friendly and all seemed to enjoy themselves whilst the girls manning the desks did an amazing job keeping everything running so smoothly. My only regret is not going for a ride in the Miura, though big thanks to the owner for showing me round and chatting about the car! Roll on the next DR event.....

Tony as you've found at this event and others each event, the day of the event and even the time of day can vary the amount you're booked

Bookings seem to go in bunches then nothing I think this is because your car gets noticed more when it's actually moving - ad-p wasn't getting rides so brought his car round to the load up area for the public to see and this got his rides going straight away

The NEC I think is also affected by the flow of crowds from the other animated events show times

Driving is tiring especialy if you car is popular, or you make it popular but the hard work is done by the marshalls and even harder work by those on the desks

Tiring and hard work but all enjoyable and rewarding

Thanks to EVERYONE involved

Personal thanks to:
firesafetydave - blood 'n' guts Westie V8 (and his victims passengers)
chap (sorry forgot your name, my old age) in car 21 blue porsche
Harsh
Mark for his alternative route for smaller cars (sorry to the Nismo that followed me on that)

Gave the metal shard a good tug today and it came out with ease , long old blighter too , good job it hadnt wrecked the tyre , and it turned out it wasn't the cause of the slow puncture ......so i still have a mystery to solve ...lol

Neil, good(ish) news about tyre - we'll get you on small car route next year

Dave, maybe you should get someone younger or fitter to drive, anyway you had all day Friday off from the Wesite biggrin

If the seat was moveable I'd gladly take a few rides for you - pity you damaged Simon so much that he can't take a few of your ride's

As an act of sympanthy I'd suggest next year you book the Monday off smile
