Three. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight: One Lancaster bomber, two fighters: one Spitire and one Hurricane.
Weren't they fantastic!
Yes they were. I'm sure the Lancaster changed colour at the end It looks like two different planes in Pupps pics, probably because of the lighting, which is what confused me methinks.Weren't they fantastic!
Mental note made never to try anything dodgy under your eagle-eyed gaze
Fiver next time I see you, alright?

A few random pics from a good day out... Anyone know the story on the Lotus? A sort of flared up Europa with a Ford/Shelby V8. Car of the day for me I think
Nope, but I know a man who will. I'll send him an email and find out. Here it is again, from the front, as seen at the Club Lotus show at Donington earlier this year.

There was a Rover V8-engined Europa that was based on the type 47 and was commissioned by GKN (it was registered GKN 47D) but it did'nt have flared arches or a rear spoiler. The blue car above is therefore probably another 'home build' like the one Nigel is after info on. Shame it didn't have an info sheet on it really as it would have been interesting to actually learn its history.
Here's a few photos from me.
Lovely BGT V8
Vauxhall Royale Coupe (when did you last see one of these?)
I could only dream that my parents drove around in these two!
Interesting combination of rear tyres on this Bull...
Firesafety Dave takes another unsuspecting passenger for a wild ride!
Beautiful concours BMW 2000 CS
Lovely Alfa Romeos
Immaculate Capri II
Another spotless '70s Ford; a MkV Cortina 1.6 Ghia
We think this started life as a Morris something or other - well, it had a Morris badge on the steering wheel! Superb woodwork on the rear with a canvas roof stretched over a lattice framework section.
Triumph and Lotus - how very English!
Decisions decisions, Stuttgart or Maranello?
More here.

nice shots there Trackside!
t'was some really nice, unusual and interesting cars to be found yet again in the vast show (P5B Coupe, CE Merc and Lotus M50 Prototype were faves of mine)
i was one of those unsuspecting passengers who went for a blast with Firesafety Dave too!,
a raw, visceral, physical torque monster!
hope that young lad tucked the ends of the harness straps away or he might be missing a few milk teeth by now!
you can find all my snaps here, http://s216.photobucket.com/albums/cc19/Forthright...

IIRC the car was in 'primer' grey when John brought it along to a Sporting Bears Dream Rides at the NEC a good few years ago and possibly without those wheel arches or spoiler
IIRC it was on our (or the Lotus club) stand at the next NEC for sale and had many complimentary comments
IIRC it was built by John (possibly as a replica of GKN 47D, hence its former HOE 1D reg?)
I can't find any photos of it but I'll look thro' Mrs Beer's extentise collection as none of her's are even thrown away
