Great to meet everyone yesterday, some very quick cars there.
On one of my first runs I sat next to a yellow Seat Ibiza on the line and thought to myself "I'm sure I've heard that car mentioned on PH before .. " so wasn't too surprised when it disappeared off into the distance
Thanks to Guy for the trip in the Ultima - you can't beat a huge V8!
Thanks to Craig for organising

'nuff said! Well done Craig
Top day, good to meet up with the usual suspects and some new faces. Happy birthday Tony - your car is fantastic - not sure how an SV could be even sexier Guy's Ultima didn't disappoint (luckily, now I have a chassis) and DeR's car and driving were even more mindblowing than usual. Top marks for wiper removal.
Cheers to Plotloss for lift home - good fun to go topless in the chimp, although I sadly missed out on an Iguana joyride because we ran out of time. Thanks for making Lotus Carlton friend of mine feel welcome and entertaining him. His jaw is still on the tarmac

Great day, great crowd. Thanks to Craig, Greg, Emma and co., and especially the ever-patient guy operating the timing gear, for all your effort and to everyone else for making it into such an enjoyable day – especially those brave enough to take a passenger ride with me.
Biggest surprise for me (apart from the speed of the Cupra!) was how little difference the long run-up made. Daz and I crossed the beam at 176 and 175mph respectively from a virtual standing start on the straight and yet Daz’s FTD was only 3mph more despite 100mph corner exit speeds – explain that!

I guess wind resistance was the leveller no matter the run up? some head wind towards the afternoon bit.
At those speeds it makes one heck of a difference.
My passenger door seal "roared" when I hit 150mph every time... some sort of wind resistance [yikes]

Another most enjoyable day with a great bunch of people & cars, I can't think of a much better way of spending a Sunday. Craig, thanks for the organisation and put my name down for the next one
Apologies to those that I didn't get time to give a passenger ride to, but we had to head off early in an attempt to ensure that there will be two Diablos next time.... although after a run in the Ultima, Jason was nearly convinced that he should be going in that direction for his next automotive purchase. I think I did manage to persuade him that the Ultimas are just too quiet!!!! BTW thanks to Guy for bringing the noise meter.... 115db's at 4,500 revs.... now I know why the neighbours don't speak to me anymore. Unfortunately, the noise didn't translate into VMax.... far from it.... note to self, must try harder next time or get a tune up pre BruntersIV.

ps, as I stated earlier, 20mph headwind on the runway so this has dented some speeds slightly. Also these are "real" electronically recorded speeds, your speedos are generally off at these kind of levels.
Thanks again chaps.

Many thanks for taking the time and effort to organise this Craig. Superbly well done.
Such a refreshing change to meet so many, many knowledgable, friendly people with manifold pleasure craft.
Enjoyed the 20mph roll - ons immensely. They told a story that blind figures alone never can. Well done to the big beetles
Well done to everyone

Superflid's Peugeot Partner (75 bhp )
60 mph through the hairpin. 1 mile later 86 mph. *
Beat the smart though......
For anybody that missed me, I was the fool wearing shorts in October.
You !!!!!!! *this was on the way back to the burger van, so understandably most people were in a hurry.
Right, its going to be remapped asap!!!!! I reckon it would have been quicker round track though which of the two rolls more is anyones guess!!
Still, I Vmax'd my car to and from the venue must borrow dads car next time...
Thanks again to all involved, fantastic day - thanks to Dazren for the ride in his monster porker and for complete contrast I also went in adamt's 318 compact! I have to say it was just as exciting in the corners as the porker - thanks adam!
Nice to put a few names to faces too - sorry to EdT/Marshy for suffering me chatting away for ages! Oh and a BIG sorry to Daz for my language, although at those kind of speeds it was hard to say anything else .
Craigw - my car has a towing speed limit im afriad, next time though just ask for my keys and take it round yourself, 85mph in a smart on a bumpy runway feels like 175mph in a Porsche - especially when the wind pushes you to one side
Cant wait for the next one, hopefully the Cerbera will be available then...
edited to add - superflid you had 20bhp more than me, so I guess it didnt do too bad!!

Craig and Greg
Thanks for a great day. First time i pushed the Ultima in anger but a shame that it hits the rev limit a mile down the runway.
I still had fun with very large flames, the twisty bits, the bends and the brakes. I hope all that had a ride enjoyed themselves and put me down for the next one.

Fantastic day as usual, apart from the almost unbearable situation of not having A car to take.
Thx to Daz for showing me how to take THAT corner at speed and a BIG thx to Guy for the Ultima run.....I WAS considering an Ultima as the next purchase but its just TOO raw......cant imagine myself hooning all the way to Le Mans in one!!! Getting back in the Diablo seemed like pure luxury.....Cheers to Craig and Greg for organising a seamless, troublefree day.
Looking fwd to the Spring 04 where hopefully I may have "something" to throw around myself!!
Whilst on the subject....I have debated this issue with various people and would like any other opinions on what to spend my hard earnt on after my nightmare experience with the 360....
Criteria:
Non-Ferrari, they are exiled for at least 6 months
Not Aston....i'm not 60
Not Porsche......sorry DeR/Daz/Paul...they just dont excite me.
100k max.
P.S
Joust, Good luck with the Noble!
