Yup, it's time to drag the cover off your sportscar, top up the tank with Optimax, and head to Leighton Buzzard for the Turkey Work-out fun run (part deux).
Due to overwhelming demand, the run will be held on
Sunday 2nd January 2005
Start-time Meet from 10:30, aim to leave by 11:00
Starting from the Leighton Buzzard Library carpark
Ending at Grove Lock in time for lunch.
I'm still working on the route, but my current thoughts are something like Leighton -> Oving -> Waddesdon -> Long Crendon -> Grendon Underwood -> Steeple Claydon -> Winslow -> Mursley -> Leighton -> Pub
(This is subject to alteration based on weather and Neil's navigation on the day
)
Any comments, thoughts, ideas or interested parties, please reply below!!

I'll put more detail into the route once I've studied a more detailed map (and done a final recce with Ness next week). The main thing I'm wondering is whether to cut the corner at Bicester or not (depends on speed limits and juntions of some back roads).
I'm up for this little jaunt , and the route sounds good - i know a nice way over to Waddesdon from LB (which happens to pass my house so i must warn the neighbours!)

neilsie said:Wondered about that. I don't have a problem throwing my car down those roads, wasn't sure if everyone else is the same. Could run Whitchurch->Claydons->Twyford->Stratton-Audley->A4421 and avoid Bicester completely (only I'm not sure enough of the way to lead that bit). Maybe if I lead to Whitchurch, you could take us to the A4421 above Bicester?
chris,
you wanna take in the claydons for good roads...
N.
What about how to get round Buckingham? Obvious route (which I know) is A421 then pick up A422, but again if you know a good backway..... A422 to Stony and then trundle down A5 on dual bit gives those with heavy right-foot issues some playtime

sure, the whole triangle between Aylesbury> Bicester> Buckingham has fun roads...
eg calvert to preston bisset
whitchurch up to winchendon is fab.
if going to whitchurch, go past greg's pad and then onto Stewkley> Mursley> winslow > East Claydon> Quainton > Whitchurch.
just say the start and end points, and the rest is easy.
