Shere Hill Climb 2023

Not long to go now till the 2023 event. Tickets are on sale at - https://www.sherehillclimb.co.uk/. 250 cars with three runs each up the hill.
I am fortunate enough to be going/up the hill this year in my Cayman. We have been for the last few years and it has been a great day out. Last year I went up in my 370z and enjoyed every minute.
Lots of great cars to see on the move and parked up in the field plus good music and food. If you find yourself at a loose end and are local enough - give it a try!

Although the road is closed, please remember that the Road Traffic Act still applies. Anyone who
in the opinion of the marshals or organisers drives in a reckless manner, or exceeds the 60 MPH
speed limit will be excluded and not invited back. Speeds will be monitored along with safety
awareness. Anyone deemed not to be driving appropriately will receive one warning. If the driver
does not heed the warning his entry will be withdrawn and he will be banned from any future SHC
event.

As above, the drivers briefing gives the letter of the rules, but at its heart it is a fun run up the hill. Even at/around the speed limit, with lots of eyes on you the it is a great experience and I don’t recall seeing people taking the piss when I have been before.How ‘seriously’ are you allowed to take the hill climb? The first 100m or so is a ‘sterile zone’ where you are allowed to showboat/burnout/whatever. I don’t recall the speeds being actively monitored - more a case of don’t be a dick/drive dangerously. It is a privilege to be able to run it on closed public roads so I think they are keen not to see it abused or for the event to be drawn into disrepute.

We’ve also enjoyed walking round the car parking as much as you get some really interesting cars turn up.
I will be there. Last two years have been great so looking forward to it. Not too muddy hopefully.
Did send pictures of my new MX-5 to them but didn't get offered a run so maybe next year. Saying that have never got onto the grid at Goodwood with either of my two other cars when its been Japanese/Convertible Breakfast Club. Must just be my Toad like face..
