It actually happened! Britballrun actually happened over the bank holiday, ive been off so this is the first time i can tell people about it.

Firstly forget Gumball 3000, Cannonball or anything like that. Its more of a treasure hunt than a race, (legally it has to be or like 2004 its cancelled). Around 20 cars took part, all badged up some looking better than others, it ranged from a Porsche GT3 to my Ghostbuster Esprit right down to an ex post office diesel van. The idea is to drive to set locations where your next location is then given to you, on route you can do certain tasks, as its not timed theres no reason to hoon off at 140mph, its all based on your total miles over the day, approx 400. The tasts equate to points, points to miles which then are deducted from your days mileage. lowest mileage over 3 days wins.

The route went from near birmingham, over to north Wales, then up to Stirling in Scotalnd, thats the first day. 2nd day was Scotland back down to Warwick castle. we spent the evening there, amazing, we were allowed to take all the cars in to the castle grounds for some fantastic pics then we sat down to a medieveil feast with free beer & wine, excellent night.

The last day was from Warwick to membury services (M4) then across to Newport then up to the finish point in Birmingham.

What makes it such a laugh is everybode got on well, no body got nicked & nobody died. tasts ranged from finding a vowel on the back of a smartie lid to a bus ticket!

The guys that won did so by using a 4X4 & driving cross country to go as the crow flies, it worked, we did 389 miles on the first day then came in around 360.

All in all chaps if you have ever thought about doing something like this do it next year. it couldnt have been organised any better, top marks to the guys that worked for 2 years to arrange it, we will definately do it next year.... oh & we came 7th.
