A Sporting Bear well known to PHers is putting his Enzo and Carrera on the static Sporting Bears stand (HALL 4, opposite the Dream Rides) at the NEC Classic Motor Show, next year he'll have a Veyron and who knows he may give rides again (those that went out in his Lambos, 360 and F40 know he's not one for holding back so a Veyron ride! ! !)

I'm not sure what's giving rides this year but I personally hope the black Stingray racer can make it, another member's Carver wont be ready so he might bring the Ford GT or Miura and it would be fantastic to see a DWR Cobra (usually 600+bhp)

MPHers, why spectate when you can take part

Hope to see you at the NEC

Thank you, great stuff

I'll usually be with the "dirty" magazines

Ignore anything the other Bears say about me, not all of it is true

See you there, Nigel

I can't guarantee it'll be there next year, I can't guarantee it'll give rides, I can guarantee that I'm open to bribes

See you there (away now until NEC)

Hi James,
that would be fantastic but he's not been able to make Kimbolton the last few years, busy man you know

NEC Dream Rides today will included the XK and the blue wedge that was a 350i but now is a 460 special which you would love a ride in as the driver is a real TVR fan and likes to notch up other makes (went passed the red Viper twice yesterday) unfortunately he's always too busy running Kimbolton to do rides

I've not seen it but I know Kimbolton featured in Sprint

Thanks for the blip!

Good to meet you and I can't wait for my track ride in the Enzo!

Top marks to Paul for putting up his cars for the show and offering the experiences. Also to all the other drivers who offered blips out and to all the hard work of the Sporting Bears team!

Excellent!

No problem, nice to meet you, sorry the roads weren't as empty as earlier when there was more room for fun

I know you'll love your track ride with Paul as I've been out with him when he was "restricted" to HM's highways in a F40

Paul's little venture, becuase he kept offering to do more, brought in £10,500 !!

Thanks I'll look out for that

The his and her M100 owners will also come along if they're available and the "new XK" team plus possibly a Porsche team, we're all elderly Sporting Bears so will definately miss clues and get lost but we will always be able to find our way to a pub, Tyre Tread can vouch for this from the Rockingham Classic and Sports treasure hunt

The plank will have to be as thick as me to take my weight

We're used to not winning as only three of the six of us are competive and only one of the competive three is any good and it's not me

When you have time please take a look at www.sportingbears.org.uk

(NEC report says 50 rides, I don't think that's right but it doesn't matter, I think the report's by Mike's young lad as the spelling is worst than mine)

Edited because of spelling mistake!

Thank you

You are very welcome

When you meet Paul don't forget to tell him that you joined from seeing his track ride

Next year we'll arrange a 'formal' cheque presentation with Lings Forum Special Needs Gym Club where we take the parents, instructors and the real pleasure the kids, for a quick ride in our cars, it's a real joy

We also get the press for a photo to promote the Gym Club

As a new member you wont know that the fabulous The Caper T'other Way Round tour is just about sold out, have a look at last year's report on the Bears home page then go to Events page if you're interested to get Bob & Mary's phone number, they should be back from the NEC tonight, spaces are very limited. Bob and Mary know how to organise a tour and when to tour up there to miss the tourists

I think you would probably enjoy a tour like this

PS just seen you have/had a TR7, Bob has one rusting away in his garage and I think there was a M100 on last year's Caper, next year Nev & Liz will probably take one of their's

Ha ha! The TR7 was my first ever car! Only sold her last year.

Yes they do rust but I loved her, and what a great first car! The Minivan was the only hard top car I've had.

Will check out the run you mentioned...

No, it really is rusting away in his garage as he never uses it anymore, his affections moved on to a MGF and then MGTF

He ought to pass it on to someone who will use it just like a Bear I'm seeing tomorrow has finally decided to do with his very nice Corba replica

So if you know anyone who wants a good quality Cobra this one is well worth a look

Bob has said he'll never sell his TR7, we'll see'
