*Edited* - DOH - I meant The Point in Bracknell banghead

Hi Guys

Is anyone organising a pre-vw meet and convoy from The Point in Bracknell like the last few years?

I notice there is a thread talking of a meeting point at Fleet Services but there haven't been many replies so I have no idea how many will be meeting there.

If lots of people want to as well I could drive up there first and meet up, but if there isn't many theres not much point for me, as I live on the Ascot side of Bracknell so it would mean heading in the wrong direction.

Hi Marc

It looks like there isn't much of a response on this forum which is a shame because I've enjoyed driving to VW from here for the last 2 years.

However, there will be a number of us in MX-5's meeting here from 10AM for the run to VW and you'd be very welcome to join us. If you live in Ascot you probaby know the local roads and could make the drive to vw more "interesting"!

Ok guys, does that mean you will be there?

I was thinking of a 10 - 10:30 meeting time so we can get on our way by 11. Is that ok with you?

I'll be driving a red MX-5 with gunmetal wheels - it's quite hard to miss!

I would think we'd want to be there by 11, its looking like it'll be pretty busy the way the list is filling up. I would have thought meet at 10 to leave at 10:30?

Ok with me. 10am meet for 10:30 departure it is then.

Does anyone know an interesting route from Bracknell to VW or should I try to remember the route we took last year?

I`m up for a little run too. Did we just run down the 329 towards the M3 then hang a left onto the road VW is on last year? Could go via Ascot high st, passing Blacknest car park towards Wentworth junction?

I think last year we went through Winkfield, around the back of Ascot through Cheapside somewhere.
I might be able to remember the route if I drive it but I can't quite see it on the map.

Hi Guys, the route that 'MX-5 Lazza' is referring too is the one that I organised last time. I've done different routes and maps on the last 3 or 4 pre VW meets from 'The Point'. It was my baby if you like, but got too popular. It did get a bit silly by the last time as we had about 45-50 cars trying to leave The Point car park in one go, and we all got split up, went different ways and one PH TVR Chimera driver even complained to me about the quality of the maps I'd given out! Well he can do his own bloody run this time!

I'll meet you guys at 'The Point' on Sunday morning to leave at 10:20/10:30 and take you on the twisty country route if you'd like me too? And I may even bring some of the 'same quality' maps I did last time. It may be worth moving the Bracknell meet venue to another location to enable us to all set off at the same time though.

We could meet up at 'Homebase' in Bracknell, it's 2 mins from 'The Point' and is on quieter roads in one of the industrial areas? It would be easier to get a large group of cars out of there and head off into the countryside twisties.

Let me know what you think.
This time around we could possibly collect people from 'The Point' and stop off at 'Homebase' to regroup before setting off properley?

I think this would be the best way. The Point is easy to find and the carpark is much bigger so there wouldn't be a problem with a gathering number of cars for 15-30 minutes.
