Nurburgring in 2 weeks - need suggestions!

Hey guys, I'm heading over to the 'Ring Aug 16-22 for some spirited driving. Does anyone who's frequented the area have any suggestions as far as where to stay and what else to do in the area during the weekend? I intend on driving the 'Ring on Friday and Monday only to avoid as many idiots as possible.

Also, tips on the best unrestricted parts of the Autobahn would be helpful as well.

If you want somewhere nice and quiet to stay the hotel zurburg in nurburg village is good. Ardenau is probably the better place to stay although car parking might be on street depending on the hotel you stay at. We've just had last weekend out there. Even with one day of rain we didnt run out of things to do as we were spectating most of the time and had one little wander down to ardenau.
