Torpedo Run 2007 Driver Required
Discussion
I am looking for a driver to enter the 2007 Torpedo Run, starts 21 Sept 2007 in Ahaus Germany, finishes 23 Sept near Lake Garda, Italy. Entrance fee for the driver is 950.00 GBP. You will be driving my AC Schnitzer BMW Mini for about 2/3 of the trip. Before and after the event, we will be departing and arriving back in London, England.
See http://tinyurl.com/yvztxv for specifications of vehicle.
See http://www.torpedorun.com/information.html and http://tinyurl.com/33ewdd for details of the event.
Prior to the event, I have an invite from AC Schnitzer for themselves and us to take my ACS mini and their ACS mini round the Nurburgring and visit the Frankfurt Motor Show that week, before the start of the Torpedo Run on 21 Sept.
Requirements:
- Non Smoker
- Drive manual right hand drive car
- IAM driver, though not essential
I have just signed up and hope to attend the Virginia Water meet.

I passed my test less than 12 months ago, have been taking IAM lessons for my advanced driving test, have never driven in Europe before, and thought I'd throw myself in at the deep end. Yes I would like to drive in Europe too, but on my own - with less than 12 months on a full UK license, and it's a team event - team of 2 per vehicle.
Yes I could drive 1/2 the time, but I think that's a little ambitious, hence myself 1/3 the time. You can learn a lot by watching how others drive too.
