RUN POSTPONED UNTIL SUNDAY 26th AUGUST DUE TO BAD WEATHER!
Hi all,
After the spectacularly good run we had back in June,
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
I'm aching for another.
I had promised to get a new route sorted out for this time around, however I'm under even more time constraints than last time round - I've quit my job to start a detailing business and I'm going to be looking for a new place to live very shortly, amongst other things.
This means that a new route will have to wait, probably until the winter (I'm assuming the crappy summer we're having means this winter will be sunny and dry).
Anyway, long story short - we're gonna do it again.
Current thinking is for August 18/19 or 25/26.
EDITED TO ADD - CONFIRMED FOR AUGUST 19th
Same deal as last time re: entry -
E-MAIL YOUR DETAILS - NAME, PH NAME, CONTACT NUMBER AND CAR - TO
KENTRUN07@HOTMAIL.COM
Then add your name to the list below!
Thanks all, if I get a few minutes I'll try to e-mail everyone from last time about this too.
EDIT TO ADD -
I've been contacted by Groomi who wants to combine the Re-Run with a meet at the Woodman at Ide Hill. Assuming there is enough interest in that, we may be ending up there this time round, instead of Marsh Green. I'll keep you posted

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, not August childrens holidays.
Hehe! If it sucks we'll do another one in September.- ****************************************************************
Date confirmation - August 19th
There's a number of reasons, sorry I can't please everyone with the date

That farm track was a mistake on an old version of the tomtom map that got sent out by mistake, and was never intended to be on the route. Before we ran the run proper I fixed it to go the way I had intended.
Most groups on the day went the correct way and avoided this dodgy section.
Hopefully there should be no confusion this time around.
For some reason, one group (I think BlackFrog's?) still went that way anyway (as he had done when he tested the route before the day on the old, wrong, tomtom file).

I've edited the first post to say this as well, I've been contacted by Groomi who is trying to get a meet at the Woodman at Ide Hill together and wants to combine it with the Re-Run, so if there's enough interest on that we may well end up there instead of Marsh Green this time - I'll keep you posted

KMC.. I wont have problems keeping up with you now!

Ah Ive just worked it out now, you used to be Rochester BMW in the 335i, and now you will be in the TVR!! Good work fella!I have a mate with a MK1 Clio V6 that should be coming aswell. (STC)
If Blackfrog cant make it, we need to elect a suitably fast leader for our group.

Keep this going chaps, tell all your PH mates - can we beat last time???
In that case, I have a possible Aston DB9 and a Morgan Aero 8 that might be interested aswell... Ill find out.Jay,
what was the official numbers for the last kent run for us to beat?
Last run, I left before everyone got to the finish point, It was a cosy car park, did it get cramped with everyone there? Is this finish point going to remain?
Any chance the owner could try and smooth out the entrance?
The end point might be the Woodman this time round, it's not been confirmed yet. It did get very full, yes.
Attendance on the day was I believe about 65 cars in total, so we need a list of about 90+ to guarantee that we'll beat it.

Chaps, all those with a BlackFroggy disposition would be welcome to follow behind me
What happens if you want to go faster? LOL! On a different note, you heard from Robin recently?

Sorry to hear about Robin, is it resolvable?
Good day to you, one and all.
Did anyone who did the last run feel like it could have been, perhaps, a bit longer?
Remember me saying I wouldn't have time to come up with a new route? Well I didn't. However, I have made a very nice tweak to the early part of the route as it was, and I've also managed to put in a brand new section! The only thing is, it lengthens the route quite considerably. In fact, by about 30%, all of which precedes the original route.
To that end, if anyone has strong concerns that this new route will be too much to take, please voice them here.
Everyone else who isn't a great big jessie, you're in for a treat!
Can I please remind everyone again to E-MAIL YOUR CONTACT DETAILS TO KENTRUN07@HOTMAIL.COM as I will be e-mailing the route via TomTom itn files, graphical maps and notes as per last time.
Much appreciated!

A longer route is fine by me, but if everyone else wants to keep t the same, thats also fine.
Last time was great anyway.
What time are you planning to leave for this afternoons trip, and how long do you expect it to take?
Couple of hours, don't really mind when, after lunch though. By all means give me a ring, you're not far rom me are you? (Kings Hill)Last time was great anyway.

P.S. Hehe, just checked Google map, apparently the new route works out at just shy of 180 miles - roughly the same as Maidstone to Paris as the crow flies
I think the last one was about 140ish

Cheers to Jason (kentmotorcompany) for the company this afternoon, sorry it was a bit tedious covering the same ground so much, but I got there in the end after you left - ladies and gentlemen, we have our run.
Let me make it clear to everyone that THIS IS A MUCH MODIFIED ROUTE from the original June 10th run, including different start and finish points. We do cover mostly the same ground, but there are now new sections so you will need to download the new itn files which I will be sending out shortly via e-mail.
IF YOU STILL HAVEN'T SENT YOUR CONTACT DETAILS TO KENTRUN07@HOTMAIL.COM , PLEASE DO SO ASAP!
Many thanks again,
Jay
