This is just an idea...

Been looking at the route and times etc and think if we leave at 7:15 / 7:30 ish we might be about 25mins early at the MINI plant... So, do we...

A: Leave a little later?
B: Make the route slightly longer?
C: Stop at a cafe for bacon sarnie / coffee mid way?
D: Stop at a Hand Car wash place near the MINI plant to actually have a clean car for once at a SS?
E: Just leave it as it is and get there early?
F: MX-5?

Got a tea/coffee stop sorted yet?
Found a couple of places, need to phone them tomorrow and check they'll be open. They are more coffee shop / cafes though rather than Greasy spoon's if everyones ok with this?

The ideal would be a truckers / bikers cafe without going off route with parking. If anyone knows of one (about 3-4 miles to the west of Reading would be perfect) then please PM me.

Cheers

RochTVR, let me know what time you plan to cross the Medway, I'll tag along, if ok. BlackFrog we have to get Rich to turn up to this one too. Unless he is ice racing again!

It's a mini adventure!
Hi mate, I'll be joining the motorway after the Medway bridge, how about the new Esso station London bound on the A2 after the Cobham junction? 6:00am?

6:00am! yikes So wrong, yet so right!

Couple of things to point out while I remember...

Looks like a few of the MX-5 owners will be joining us but are going to split off from the convoy near oxford to meet up with the other MX-5's. So I've suggested that they stick to the back after the coffee stop so no one follows them without realising. Just so everyones aware.

Also, there are now 8 RenaultSports! thumbup and waiting on a few more to confirm... once again after the coffee stop can everyone let us Frechies go first so we can park next together when at MINI.

Lastly, if anyone knows any good Bikers / Truckers cafe's to the west of Reading please let me know... I have found some cafe's but with 21 cars so far parking could be a problem.

Shaping up nicely though!

Cheers
Lee

Thanks for that, perfect kind of place.

Does anyone have any walkie-talkies (3 ideally) that they could lend for the drive please?

I dont plan to do satnav files or directions for everyone like on the Kent Run, but to help keep everyone together I would like to have one person in the middle and one person at the back who do have the satnav directions and a walkie talkie just in case a gap appears due to traffic lights etc.

Also, can everyone make sure they have a 20p coin on them during the drive please.

There is a small toll that we go through.

Although we are stopping at the services on the M4 (west bound Jct 11/12), we come on at Jct 11 and exit at Jct 12 straight back onto A-B Roads.

On the last Kent Run there was a 1970's (American) car, someone will know the model, and he seemed to enjoy the run wink

Below are all the times / locations and address's for sat navs.

Start Point
Guildford Cathedral
Stag Hill
GUILDFORD
Surrey
GU2 7UP

We will be leaving at 7:15am so ideally try to get there about 15mins before.

Halfway stop
M4 Services
West Bound
Between Junctions 11 / 12

We should be arriving about 8:00am. Depending on what time we get there (hopefully its earlier) will depend how long we have for coffee/bacon rolls etc as we will be leaving no later than 8:15am. Please be by your car as we wont have time to wait if people are still in the services.

Stadhampton Flyby
Those of you that are joining the convoy here please note that the convoy will not be stopping, I will give you a flash and you can pull out behind me, so make sure you keep your eye out for us and be ready to drive off.

We should be passing here at about 8:50am and then arriving at MINI at about 9:05

Address for satnavs is a Pub called;
'The Crazy Bear'
Bear Lane
Stadhampton
Oxford
OX44 7UR

Red = Path of convoy
Green = Wait here
Blue = Queue this way

If this does make sence then let me know and I will try to explain it better.

just a thought, wont trying to keep 35 plus vehicles together without sat nav going to be near impossible ??
Ive been meaning to bring this up... I would be grateful for a 2-3 people who can have the nav file running to help keep the group together.

Fancy offering your navigation services Bobsan?

To help the group moving along smoothly, the general rule is to never loose sight of the person behind you. If you do then flash the person in front to tell them to slow down... that message will in turn get passed up the line.

There are also going to be some members with walkie-talkies.

Saying that, the route is actually very easy and is made up mostly of long roads without too many turnings so keeping everyone together shouldn't be a problem.
