PH Sunday Service At Dads Day Out 16/05/10
Join us at Dunsfold for what promises to be one of the best days out this year
One of the best events of 2009 returns bigger and better for 2010. Dads Day Out at Dunsfold Park (the home of BBC’s Top Gear) is a fantastic event in aid of The Children’s Trust charity in Tadworth and has been co-organised by our friends over at Petrolhead Nirvana in association with Club Scuderia.
It's a PistonHeads Sunday Service with a difference as not only will we have a huge private parking area reserved for PHers, you'll also have a great day out while doing your bit for 'charidee'.
The main attraction will be the 100+ supercars giving passenger rides around the airfield in exchange for a donation to the good cause. The cars will range from Ariel Atoms and KTM X-bows, a mix of Ferraris and Lamborghinis as well as a number of niche and even more exotic cars (which will be confirmed nearer the date).
Just watching these cars lap the circuit would be entertainment enough, but in addition to the main event there are 3 other interactive areas:
- The Caterham Club will be demonstrating their particular brand of car control in the shape of donuts and drifting, and will be willing to take passengers who are brave enough to get involved.
- Children aged from 14 upwards can take their first driving lesson in a dual control car next to a trained instructor (brave chaps).
- There'll also be a performance driving instruction area for grown-ups, this time in your own car with a qualified performance driving trainer helping you to hone your skills on a specially set out circuit.
As if all that wasn’t enough, there’ll be a huge static display of classic, sports and supercars, aeroplanes, and an array of stands and stalls. To keep the kids amused there will be a fun fair, slot car racing, a Roary the Racing Car Zone, plus helicopter, fire engine and double-decker bus rides.
Musical entertainment will be provided by 3 (or maybe more) live bands, including PistonHeads very own ‘The Lettuceheads’ and ‘The Deccas’ who will both be playing sets - as will Sarah Blackwood of ‘Dubstar’ and ‘Client’ fame.
PistonHeads have secured our own large parking area as well as a deal on the entrance cost. It’s normally £7 per adult and £3 per child. However the organisers have offered us a special price for PHers of £7 per car with a driver and up to 4 passengers.
We know there’s not normally a cost associated with our Sunday Service meets but we think you’ll agree this event is worth the exception, especially as every penny goes direct to The Children’s Trust.
Gates open from 9.00am and the event starts at 10.00am. First rides on the circuit will start at 10am and will run until 4.30pm, but no later due to noise restrictions at the airfield so make sure you arrive early.
To book the special entrance tickets click here
In order to book supercar rides in advance you’ll need to follow this link
(Don’t buy another entry ticket as the ‘display pass’ lets you in.)
Please make sure you do book your rides in advance as there’s a limited number and they are likely to be sold out way before the event. PH has also been given a jump start on this, ahead of the national and local press - so book early to take advantage of it.
The other 3 driving areas are not available to book online yet, but don’t worry we’ll update you as soon as the online booking option for those becomes available.

Add your name to the thread attached to this story if you are coming along...
The PH car park is at the end of the car display area,
the E-tickets state you have to be there by 9am, and whilst that would be helpful it is an all day event and the PH car park is accessible for the whole day rather than being surrounded by the event arenas. so you dont need to be there that early and it doesn't matter what car you have, be it a Yaris or a Carrera GT.
However if any PH'ers do want to be in the main static display area please send me a mail thorugh my profile or to info@petrolheadnirvana.com and i'll do my best to arrange it for you.
should we have a ph'ers list?
*you know how I love lists!*
