Some guidance please, I am planning on having an exhaust made for the DeTomaso Guara, the current system uses some rather wheezy standard BMW cats, sounds ok as the main silencer has been removed but doesn’t look all that wonderful.

My first problem is there are seemingly no patterns available unlike the older cars so I will need somebody who is pretty ace at pipe bending. Ideally I would like some nice free flowing 100 cell cats, not much in the way of silencing and looking nice and shinny.

Being based in Suffolk I would like something local and whilst I know Hayward & Scott are close I’m a little conscious they might know how to charge well.

Any pointers to companies I should consider and what would be a reasonable amount of money for this sort of project would be much apprechiated, le mans is in three weeks and it would be good to liven the beast up a bit for the occasion.

Below is the best shot of the engine bay I’ve got at the moment but you can see there is loads of space and indeed the grotty old cats loitering in there

Simpson Racing exhausts are one option.

Ive used OJZ Engineering too, and they did an excellent job for me. It was expensive...not sure it overly so though. I didnt think their price too bad.

Ive also used H&S in the past...again, the prices are highish. Not sure Id say way over priced though.

I would say that my OJZ manifolds, were finished better than the H&S stuff, although most of the H&S Ive seen is their normal "off the shelf" hand made stuff.
