Hi ppl,

Post for my uncles problem with his 2004 Cayenne 4.5 litre petrol model.

The off road diff lock mode has been activated by someone looking at buying the car and its stayed in it and wont come out of it.

Gather because its never been used much, i know hes owned it 6 years and never activated whist hes owned it, its maybe seized in place ???

Anyhow just wondered if any body had any ideas about it ?

Thank you for any help/pointers.

Regards Mike

I've no idea if it will work on yours but engaging the centre difflock on older Land Rovers & driving on tarmac/solid surfaces can wind the transmission up. The cure is to reverse for a short distance - I've never needed to go back more that 20/25 yards on my RRC.
I suspect there may be something in your owners handbook but if all else fails you could give a dealer a call.

Find some mud/gravel/verge unwind the transmission tension & it'll pop out (probably)

The above are all worth a try, also jack up 1 wheel on each axle & try again for the same reason. (apparently some RRs need to be reset like this sometimes)

It does, but be careful to be clear of the wheel as it comes off the ground. (Not just RR)
