Vectra Engine Management Problem

I have a 1998 Vectra V6 and recently the engine management light has been coming on periodically for between 10s to around a minute.
Hasnt been happening before but i have been noticing the exhaust is sounding like is blowing from around CAT section.
When the light comes on i dont lose power at all, the light only tends to come off when i come off the throttle.

Just wondering if there any vauxhall experts here who could take an educated guess as to what the possible problem may be.

I do realise i will need to get it to someone who can trace the fault properly just hoping someone may be able to give me an idea to where the problem possibly lies or possibly steps to try beforehand before taking it to the garage

Well since the exhaust blowing and light coming on happened at the same time im only asking if there is possibility of them being related.

I do realise that the correct diagnostic equipment is needed to trace the fault accurately. But then again there may have been someone who has had a similar issue to me and could possibly take an educated guess from experience.

Maybe a bit much to ask i know but who knows, thats the purpose of forums such as these is it not?
