Hi

I'm looking into a ute, the one powered with the 3.5ltr V6.
Is there somewhere I could test drive one?
I'm based around Oxford

Just come back from Oz, and I love the idea of having a front of car and the loading capacity of my Toyota Pickup.

Is there realy no place in the uk where I could try one?

Do a search on autotrader.co.uk there were about 4 or 5 holden ute merchants last time I looked.

Very few V6's about. Does it need to be a V6? There are a lot of V8 SS utes about for sale at the moment, some at quite good prices. With a manual V8 there will be little to choose in economy either.

The only V6 car i can suggest to you is Raggyman (Jason), here on the forum, though his is a car not a ute.

If you want to sample a V8 Ss ute, please, give me a bell, sure we can arrange something.

I don't know
It would be great.
I don't know what MR taxman will say about a V8 powered pickup

The ute does qualify for tax and vat for commercial purposes, as it has 2 doors. The Crewman would be a different matter.
My ute costs approx £500 year as acompany car. It's for sale if you fancy it due to emmigration.

That's the one I would like to have!

Was it expensive to run?
What did you mostly use it for?

Not to bad to run. Servicing is cheap - nothing to do really apart from oil and filters until 72,000 I think. Fuel depends on how you drive it!!! Approx 23-24 to the gallon on a run, but less if your having a go with an M3 (and you go past!) Work wise it's towed a trailer a few times and had allsorts in the back!! Never let me down once and always causes stares and much pointing - if you're shy and don't like attention; don't buy one!

Driving one of the 48 Caterham 21 made and being probably the loudest and bright yellow, I'm sure I'll be fine in one
Have you got pictures? I need to be able to show something to business partner.

Cheers
