HSV DYNO DAY IV ..... The FI strikes back........
Discussion
Well the day is fast approaching
I have been asked to provide a list of names and mods for the Journalist who will be there shooting the day.
The best way to do this is if you all bring a little spec sheet of your vehicle with you on sat with your username , real name, home location (roughly) model type and registration (to tie in with the photos) mods, and finally, any other information that a car magazine reader may find interesting about your car. (ie speed at Thunder Road for instance)
Can`t tell you which mag it will be in as the chap is freelance but Redline is a very good bet (As TV were at the last one)

It was the texas guy, texas jack or something like that who had a gto which launched really well and I mean well. He put his launch times down to a damper rod fitted sideways between the engine and the suspension strut, which he called a stiffie.
It stopped energy being wasted rotating the engine by a few degrees. The stiffie resisted the engine's movement so all the energy went to the propshaft and driveline instead.
Some people pay a fortune on tubbing etc but you need the energy to get to the tyres in the first place. So, maybe you need a stiffie

The stiffy is all about stopping backlash which breaks traction and transmission. (The downside is it moves the drivetrain play further back toward the wheels and breaks bits there instead) Money spent on tubbing means wider tyres hence more grip, and less chance for backlash
Stiffy is without doubt a good mod but can create its own set of technical challenges.
