Weight would be an interesting field to add as well!!!
It would be, although not many of us have details of the car's weight.I had mine weighed at the fish and the fat bloater came in at 1,682kg with a full tank and no driver.
I've taken quite a lot of weight out of mine as well compared to standard (over 50kg), so the Vauxhall kerb weight of 1,677kg must be either a complete fabrication or perhaps a dry weight?

MT drag radials are not street legal in the UK.
DOT rated, passed the MOT with them, driven on by Street Eliminator cars on their cruises, satisfying rules about being street legal. I think the E rating question is a bit of a grey area, key issue being supply rather than use. The key point is a tyre must be fit for purpose.I'm guessing that there are several other sub-2 second sixty foot cars that ran on drag radials or equivalents? Very few European tyres are up to running less than 2-seconds on the sixty foot times.

DOT rating is an American standard which means zilch over here. Yes I doubt you would get sub 2 sec 60's on road tyres.I'm guessing that there are several other sub-2 second sixty foot cars that ran on drag radials or equivalents? There are some legal grey areas. All tyres sold in the UK for road use must be E Marked. As you say, the DOT markings means nothing whatsoever here.
It isnt to say a non E Marked tyre cannot be used though, just not sold for road use.
But there are rules about the amount of tread over a certain circular area of the tyre. I read this years ago and is totally separate to the tread depth rules. Have never been able to track it down again though.
But I can't see any possible way a wide MT DR would ever be legal based around it. Likewise any of the Hoosier DR's which carry DOT markings but are completely devoid of tread bar two little stripes.
A narrow MT DR might just scrape through though
Nitto's on the other hand 555R etc whilst not E marked, I wouldnt have any concerns with them being road legal here under any test as they are a normal design, full tread design etc.
Only other that comes close again, but less so for wide sections is the BFG DR. On wide ones they have a huge solid rubber central band though which might fall foul of the tread area required.
If you look at proper road legal E marked rally slicks that must have tread, you can see their tread evenly spaced over the entire surface evenly, again this must be to comply with the % of tread required over a circular area rule
And with any auto trans and wide tyres, yes sub 2s 60fts are very possible and doable, I'd say without great difficulty.
I seen an AMG Merc consistently hit 1.8s 60fts in the Isle of Man at an airfield on bog standard road tyres.
But most of the "road legal" crew stretch any MOT to the limit....I'm sure most wouldnt willingly take theirs to a government run testing station which would be totally independent.
And MOT and construction and use regs can often be miles apart when it comes to legality. MOT is a very very basic and quick check of safety related items for the most part

they get good reviews over in Qatar too but I doubt they would work on any but two days of the year over here (on the street)
I'd have no concerns using 555R's on the street, and have done in the past. They have more tread, ie ability to disperse water than say a Toyo 888 or Kumho V70A
