I now have the keys to V8 HSV
Discussion
Right had a short blast this lunchtime, huge grin still evident from the experience, all I know when I get chance to look at the speedo its at 150 mph, so what I am saying it pulls sweetly, constantly all the way, even the engine/exhaust note has become slightly more refined, power delivery smooth at all points as indicated by the graph readout. Thinking now of leaving it at 8 psi as the power is ample and adequate.
Despite everything a BIG thank you to Doug for all his concerted efforts and Mark for not giving up & finally coming through for me at Linden Special Vehicles. I WILL be using Linden in the future!

No sideways at all, last time I tried a donut on grass it would not step out at all, so I won't be able to do my parking trick anymore - new camber set up & the addition of coilovers have sorted the suspension so that outside of damp/wet conditions you can get the power down, whahoo.....
I'm very pleased for your Will. Good to hear that the new set up at Linden meets your approval as well. As you know, I've had over 5 years of 1st Class service from Mark (Linden) so I'm relieved to hear that any changes made are positive.
For regular/everyday use 8psi might well be sensible. I think, but not 100% sure, that my S/Charger runs at 0.5 bar which I think is 7.5 psi. My engine is stock, but to date (crossing everything) a seized pulley bearing has been the only problem. Even running the original plugs still, although I will get these changed if I ever actually make it to Linden, been meaning to go there for weeks now!
I really don't know if running less boost will result in greater reliablity, as you know I'm a technical numpty, but I imagine it must surely put less strain on various parts.
I haven't yet got bored with my cars performance, which is why I've resisted fiddling with it, If it ain't broke etc.
Looking forward to seeing you & car.

Thanks for your kind words A57 HSV, yes LSV certainly get their full quota of knockers, mainly from those who have never used them ironically, still I am prepared to give them my vote of confidence, yes they have got it wrong on occasion but stayed with it to get it right and give me satisfaction, LSV have spent large amounts of money, time & resources to sort my problems.
With low compression ratio & 8 psi it should run trouble free for many miles & years, time will tell of course

I once remember Mark at LSV telling me how puzzled he was about LSV getting negative comments on this forum from someone he had never even met!
So I believe that Will is correct.
It's a shame, as we are really lucky to now have such a choice of specialists/suppliers for such rare cars. In 2000, you either did it yourself as Pomona did, used a local mechanic or Mark at LSV, who has always kept a good stock of spares etc. & was able & keen to offer advise via the telephone. Invaluable for me as I live over 2 hours drive away from LSV.
