Didn't seem to notice it ever doing much to be honest. Still lets the rears spin up.

Has anyone noticed that little switch near the handbrake, I think JC called it the "Poofter button". Trust me, no ones gonna know if you switch it on every once in a while, at least when it's wet! hehe

I switched it off on a corner once and did a 180. Lucky the road was dead and wide. A little bit of poo came out.(joke)
I will only switch it off on the 1/4 as for some reason it affects my 0-100

I never turn it off! Smack yer car up and if insurance want to play nasty they could check the freeze frame to see whether it was on or not

And since when have insurance started insisting on TC being switched on then???

Like to see them prove that one in court...

i agree.. big hp rwd + rain + anything other than a straight line = screeech, bang.

Not always. I went for a blat with some PH chaps on Sunday and it was hoofing it down with rain. Most of us were RWD and the convoy was lead by two TVRs at one point. Spot the ro:

I'll admit that a huge amount of concentration was required to make progress however.

Edit: The ro looks like it's on stilts compared to the others

well since cars now record speed data and whether things like tc was active or not in the case of a smack up and airbags deploy its more than possible for them to have a look. Certainly its used in the states and I wouldnt be surprised if an eager insurance industry feeling the pinch at the minute might just start looking at any way they can to prove liabilty. Lost it and smaked it up and TC turned off, they may find a way to weasle out of it. And all this turning the TC off is nowt other than macho bks anyway

I turn my stock TC off and my Racelogic on everytime I am in the car.

With the sideways trait of the cars not sure I would run in heavy rain without some form of safety net.

im sorry to say this but unless the monaro is your first RWD car you would be pushing it to spin or destroy the Monaro. Compared to the 200sx and the skyline they are so controlable!

That's why I switch mine off when I want to drive properly. I got caught once in a nice sweeping bend, just starting to instinctively feed in a touch of opposite lock when the TC kicked in and nearly sent me off the road. Lucky I still have pretty sharpo reflexes in the car or it would have been embarrasing at least...

Have to agree entirely, while not wanting to be a smartarse I have commented more than once before about the English "fear" of RWD... I guess we all grew up with it, my first car being a GTR Torana. Most of my 16YO daughter's friends (mostly 18 YO boys) are driving HSV Clubsports or normal V8 Commodores...

Ay? How do you drift around corners then?

Or do you do drift days with the TC on!?

Definitely he has a point about the UK fear of RWD since the major shift in last 20 years to FWD. However in Australia you hardly have any curves to contend with so FWD/RWD makes no difference driving
