Is there any cuttin required for the intercooler/plumbing side of things ??

I might be interested in a price for the intercooler and associated parts if it was available seperately.

On the Monaro you need to trim out two non structural bits of body work behind the front bumper
to allow the intercooler pipes through................

I will have a look at the costs on the intercooler etc. but it might be a few weeks as we are still confirming prices and quantities.

On the UTE (which is the furthest along its development) it is proving to be no problem.........

From experience the 6.0lt cars are not showing any problems, as for the 5.7lt Monaro's some cars
have shown the need for a revised clutch system but not all.

There's no major hurry. Just looking into hassle free options for an intercooler.

I would like to hear some news on headers, the cost of this turbo might be closer to 10k considering the brakes will need an upgrade and labour.

Considering all options. But fitment time/hassle is a prime consideration, as Michael rarely gets enough time to work at his own car, so wants to keep fabricating and cutting down to a minimum

The target price is inclusive of labour, VAT fitting etc.

Brakes, well thats a personal choice, depends on what you have already got.

Got to drive it again today -

A bit of turbo lag makes things a lot more fun though. In the past I've driven turbos and it's great fun timing it just right so the turbo is spinning up as you exit corners.... then you get that "elastic band" acceleration...

Same box in my HSV. With an uprated clutch, lightweight flywheel and Redline oil it has taken 750 BHP no problems to date.

^^^ Are you going to replace your Driveshaft and Half-shafts before you turbo it? If not they won't last long and it won't be pretty when it lets go, I would seriously consider it, especially if you're going to be using M/T drag radials at the track.

I am advised that the Australians are running OE on the big Turbo conversions which they measure at 'over 1000 BHP' but open to any advice. To date no problems at all with current power except a diff rebuild due to plates 'sticking' and had to uprate clutch and flywheel. Out of interest I ran a 1000+ BHP Pontiac Big Block with a charger in the late 90's with no drive-train problems.

That's truly amazing as I can't get any supplier in the US to warranty a 6 speed past 450 hp! They trash them every day at the strip in their vettes and camaros. Warranty returns are dead common. If using slicks or MT's I wouldn't get a warranty at all. For my blown project I've decided to go auto. I have no faith in the t56 for big boost/torque.

25K of 'driving it like it should be driven' with no problems at all. I was going to fit a Ripshifter until I drove a GTS with one and found my gearchange almost as good! Ask Roger at Monkfish for confirmation. Perhaps as I never 'stand on' the accelerator until clutch fully home and 'baby it' off the line something to do with it?
