It should be Bonnie, it transforms the car.

Guys,
Now i've had the new rear's fitted. I was expecting them to feel diffrent for a while whilst they get bedded in.
But today I had a drive down to town and i'm alarmed about how the rear end feels. It's fine around town but as soon as you're at 50 or over, it feels like the rear wheels haven't been connected back on properly. I've had a look and they definetly are.....but it feels terrible when you're driving round a corner and the whole back end just wobbles from side to side.
Please tell me this is normal?
I'm off to the Maxi meet tommorow so would be happy for someone to have a drive themselves and see what it's like?

Thats what mine felt like BEFORE my new tyres. I had even thought that the guy who did my waxoyling maybe hadn't put the wheels back on quite right or something. I'll find out for sure tommorow though if i take it out for a good blast. But it definately felt a marked improvement today after the new tyres were fitted.

bonnie the RR pack would be your best upgrade, that and the rip shifter I doubt a remap will give you any noticable difference well not as big as those two

conti sports? Good price that is! If you really want to get rid of vague feeling rr pack it
'Conti Sports Contact 3' Took we a while to work out what you meant by 'rr Pack' laugh I'm off to monkfish next week for sevicing, so i'll no doubt talk about mods - my car has no mods whatsoever at the moment.
What does rr pack mean?
Our CV8s standard at the mo. I cant wait to get to monkfish.
Was it you at the Vauxhall day at Santa Pod this year. There was an Odyssey Ro there. Never did know who it was
Na, wasn't me mel.......but i definately want to get down to some of the 'run what you brungs' next season. smile

If the road surface was ok (no diesel or st) you haven't given them time to bed in yet. There will be resin all over the case until you rough it off. I know what I would do - smoke em up, that should sort it. Just be careful in the wet until you know you've got the moulding nobbles off as well, they can stop the tread making full contact. (One of the horrible chores I gave my lad was to cut them all off by hand when we put a new set of wets on his kart).

Cheers guys, after tea will go and check the pressures and find a quite area to whip them up. I know the bolts are tight enough as i had a check earlier when i thought they were about to fall off! Hopefully they'll be alright after a run down to Warminster tommorow for the meet.

That`s how I found the Falkens ran, and they never got any better, its a heavy car and the side wall loadings are way too much for some tyre makes.

That`s why I stick with the PZeros.

Edited to add:

Just had a run out and took them off for a look. I'm sure it's just that they need to be run in. They're pyramid shaped so i've taken a bit of pressure out and hope to wear down the middle of the tread so it's even.

redbarron, what size did you opt for?
more width = lots more pressure.
btw my new tyres decided to let go at about 50 mph off an island slip road with no warning at all - was quite alarming.
"smoked em up" asap and all was well, in fact now in the dry I have so much more grip I am getting axle tramp for the first time ever...

Had the same issue with mine, allbeit with 20's. Swapped for Michelin and it transformed the car. Saying that I still have Falkens on the front and they are getting better but ive done 2k miles to get there with them and its still not quite right. They just done seem to suit the Ro although they seem good on other cars... weird!

I need some new fronts for my 04 CV8. What are peoples thoughts on rotating tyres? I'm probably going to get Eagle F1 asymmetrics but these are generally considered better than the GSD3s (which I already have on the car) so it's probably with to put them on the back and move the rears to the front. Thoughts?

I have rotated mine. The rears wear out far quicker than the fronts. If you have to replace two it's cheaper but a lot of peple end up with different makes of tyre on the car. I prefer to just choose a set of four the same make (and characteristics)

Yeah, since GSD3s are still available I may just go for those, move the rears to the front and job's a good un.
