Absolutely not. Jez and Richie have stood down as Moderators, a gif that contravened the rules resulted in a thread ban for someone and abuse directed at mods resulted in a site ban for someone.

there is some irony though as this, as said, is probably or was probably one of the only subforums that really did keep to the rules. As pointed out in the "suggestions" thread to Jez a few weeks back there are many other subforums (porsche, BMW, TVR spring to mind) that regularly have posts that contradict the rules on advertising, content etc

Jez and Rich did keep the place nicely moderated and this is the most used subforum on the site too so you can see why posters might be a little more attached to things.

Emma, you need to fight your corner, and I'm sure you have plenty of support for this in here. Not my cup of tea, but the picture/gif were no worse than the scantily clad pictures of women everywhere in Ph (that I do enjoy), so unless they are all going to also be removed, I wouldn't think the action complies with equality laws. You are the victim of a male perspective on the situation, and I would think that this is potentially far worse for Ph than what could result from their N&S policy.

To echo stiggy's thoughts (which may prove dangerous), I've frequently been a little surprised to see the pushing of personal cars for sale in various other sections of PH with, to paraphrase, zero damns given. PH is a busy old site though, so it's understandable that the mods have their work cut out keeping on top of things.

Are all of the mods volunteers? I suppose as the site is active 24/7, you'd need quite a paid team to keep on top of it, and that would have an impact on profits.

All of the mods are volunteers, I am employed by HM but it is a very busy site as you say. If you do see anything you believe contravenes the rules, please do report it then action will be taken. We do try and spot things but do need help from the community members to alert us too.

Stick effectively called all mods tossers but then edited it, unfortunately it was seen before it was edited so he was banned as it was totally unreasonable to post.

I really have no issue with modding decisions being questioned by you, this isn't a dictatorship but there are rules that we all need to adhere to to keep PH viewable at work and family friendly.

As I told Big Al some time ago, if you guys added a report button to the mobile site, you would considerably increase the chances of that happening.
