as the rear of the falcon has a space of around 18 and half inches the number plate manufacturers said it was legal to cut off the left hand side as long as the bsa on the right hand side and use motorcycle letters to allow this. Although i have to show that it was an import and checked byh vosa which i did.

Even halfords had to contact the plate makers as it was special order but they said the same.

Here's the reply from Australia.

Clear as mud to me.

Can anybody enlighten us as to what this means exactly as I don't seem to have an approval number on my Vin plate?

Dear Mr. K

The Vauxhall VXR 8 was a program which utilised the UK national Type Approval Scheme administered by the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA).
This was done at a time when the older version of the 70/157/EC Framework Document was in effect for the EU. This has now been changed to the later version 2007/46/EC.

The VXR 8 May have an Approval No on its VIN Plate/Data plate.

The HSV Clubsport ex Australia to UK would have to undergo a DVLA test and have a statement of conformity (letter) from HSV. Depending on the model year there may be a number of modifications that will have to be undertaken on arrival in the UK and presented for First Registration.

HSV would have to issue such a letter.

VXR8 almost certainly is a uk type-approved vehicle. Vx wouldn't consider doing anything else.

can anyone post a picture of the VIN plate and I'll be able to tell you.

anything badged "Holden" won't be UKNTA

anything in the middle, such as the LSV cars I'd need to look up specifically.

As long as there is 11mm to the left and right of the registration mark; that is the minimum width of a British Standard Numberplate irrespective of the number of digits.
