A FEW WORDS OF WISDOM FOR TR.
Discussion
For all those going have a great day. Sadly work precludes me from this one but I shall be there in spirit
For those running a few words of wisdom.
Never run with less than a 1/4 tank of gas.
Take your time with the 4th to 5th gearchange, if its giving you trouble abandon the run and either cruise down to a slow speed with the clutch in or select 6th gear and finish the run slowly.
Any noise/smoke from the engine you don't like...clutch in and coast. The overrun may cause more damage than the failure.
Check your tyre pressures/fluid levels and take spare oils. For the blower boys cable tie your dipstick in and take spare belts
Take the run back as an opportunity to cool everything down and dont put the handbrake on when you stop.
Have a great day all

Now you tell me!
I'd like to echo the above. I really wouldn't want anyone else to suffer as we did. If you do find a problem with getting 5th, try short-shifting on the next run, as I've never had a similar problem at lower revs. If you're cautious, then you can always have another run.

Turbo chargers need lots of oil to cool down, so you need to keep the engine running for a while. Switching it off too soon will carbonise (I think that's a real word) the oil on the bearings, shortening the life of the turbo.
Try looking at a well thrashed turbo at night, it glows like a horseshoe just pulled from the fire!

That will just give the engine extra work. Are you sure you don't mean 'Heater On' as that will use the heater matrix as an added radiator?
