Car now has 9000miles on clock, and the 10,000 mile service warning light comes on display (04 CV8) Dan had this car serviced at 8000miles by vx and stamped etc...

Can i take this into any vauxhall dealer to be reset? Also, can any vauxhall dealer service these? or is it only vauxhall approved ones?

Cheers people!

Vauxhall said they need to plug in the TEC management console to reset the light, so I suspect only a Vauxhall dealership or Wortec/Linden can do this.

Make sure you are wearing a suit and tie and parked in an open space before attempting this procedure!!!

Clap your hands!
Turn the ignition off
Whistle the Wombles theme song!
Press and hold the trip computer UP and DOWN arrow buttons
close one eye!
Turn the ignition on while holding the buttons
Put on a stupid hat.
After approximately 3 seconds, release the buttons.
Proclaim that Australia will win the Ashes!
The service menu appears with a reset request.
Put your hands on top of your head
Press and hold the SET button for more than 3 seconds.
Shake your head.
Press the MODE button
Think of something else silly to do!
Turn the ignition on

I have heavily disguised this to keep the warranty people off your trail.

Does the same work with a VXR8 LS3 09 ?
I had first service done at the fish, but now have the 10k service indicator

Thanks.

Hold down the "trip" button on steering wheel and turn ignition on until the display shows service reset ....

It's a software glitch where it confuses miles and kilometers. Mine needs resetting from time to time too.

Unfortunately the service light on these is a complete work of fiction, if its not on when the vehicle is serviced it can't be reset using those techniques
