Well I think the car is now ‘tuned’, certainly the smoothest to date, nice power delivery, relatively quiet (still loud of course) and goes like stink all the way to the red line.

First graph shows the affect a dodgy alternator can produce which led to aux fuel pump cremation with wiring loom and a few blown relays.

Will, that’s insane, great readings, the fact that its smooth helps drivability a lot, I noticed a difference when mine was done, funny how quickly 400 bhp ( mine ) becomes boring once you start using the car.
BTW just noticed your car is 008, one before mine!!
Enjoy.

Wow that it is one smooth power curve - it must pull like a freight train!

Great figures, bound to be the influence of the parts from my car! Very pleased for you Will, hoping you'll get good reliability now.
Nice to see that Linden are putting all their new equipment to good use as well.

Thanks for your posts gents, 570 brake is not enough really but one should stop somewhere, unreal how you get used to it and think, now if I had...

I reckon 4 mpg ringram in the '10's'

So if it all stays together the 'mrs' should be in an HSV next month, I do not expect her to modify it ion any shape, probally fight over the keys as it is a more civilised drive altogether.

Afternoon 009, next time I'm up your way I'll make contact to compare notes etc.

Not questioning anything Will, was going to suggest you look at an upgrade to give you more acceleration without having to stress the engine anymore by upping boost. Just an idea, 3.9 on 3.46 car feels 50hp up by seat of pants feel.

Thanks caspy, yes I am very aware of the diff upgrade but without being blasé I am using all the gears now and my car has the feel of 6th being 5th at speed & 5th nearly being 4th. If I was planning on Santa Pod meets or keeping up with modded VXR’s no doubt this would be the best route but for the moment I want the car to stay together, enjoy driving rather than planning enhancements and might look at a quieter exhaust and that’s about it. Appreciate the ‘heads up’ though & I know how good a conversion it is from what I have heard.

Dont forget though, that once you start to increase power, the need for short gearing to accelerate faster diminishes.

Given that the cars are over geared in 6th, would assume it is natural progression and far cheaper!!

No, but max torque at 4,800 for me would equate to 192 MPH which I am going to say would be my max speed, been shy by 12 mph to I can only assume under the right conditions (5 mile straight) it is quite achievable and I like 5th as it just usurps German machinery limited to 155 MPH. So if I changed the diff I would have to change up before 155 and would not see 190 at all in 6th as 5k is my useable power band.

I was going to post a smart-assed comment about uprating your brakes before you try to 'max out' in 6th but luckily looked at your HSV specification I do max in 6th, no idea what speed its doing however as A. havent looked at speedo and B. wildly inaccurate anyway over 190 mph!

Surprised at ICE install tho........never did understand the logic behind tuning a car and then loading it down with extra weight in the form of an (inferior to any home system regardless of cost) ICE install

I might question the use of ‘the holy hand grenade’ approach for terminal velocity but each to their own, same applies to I.C.E. for me, it is capable of drowning out the noise of the HSV at speed and it does not hurt as its got a distortion free sound, no way will it compare to a home system pound for pound but then home systems don’t offer dedicated SatNav with the option of passengers enjoying a movie to the driver enjoying music simultaneously. The added weight (250 KG) helps keeping the rear end planted.

So in line with caspy’s comment you have maxed out at 260 mph then?

Just having a laugh based on 40 mph/1000 revs and 6,500 limit.

Do you use Road Angel for the likes for accurate speed info?

I have used a top line Garmin system and the RA together at speed and we are only talking of 1 MPH discrepancies. I can only rely on RA as I am over sized slightly on tyres (245/40/18). Quite agree with you about looking at the speedo, above 150 I cannot look at the instrument binnacle & have to rely on passengers for what speed were doing, mind you my Garmin unit logs the highest achieved speed
