G'Day Fellas,

Yes at last!! I can now say I have truely joined the HSV Owners Club,

Those of you that know me well, will know that I'm a Dedicated HOLDEN Fan and activly involved in both The Holden UK Register & The HSV UK Drivers Club, from the early days on this Forum. Although I had the EH Holden while in the UK, I have never owned a HSV, (only because I Could not afford one). Paul & all the guy's made me very welcome from the start and I thank them for that !! I also still can't believe the send off you guy's gave me along with the Monaro, (Thanks Brian & Greens).

Now we are back in Aus with HSV's a bit more af**dable(sorry that word)I have managed to get one !

I will send Paul some photo's L8R when we are set up in the house, for you all to see.

"THE CAR"
It's a 1997 VS11 Clubsport,
Genesis Blue,
Good old Aussie 5.0L with LOVELY note out back & yes it's a Manual.
Very Good Condition with build No 1997 to match the yr,

I'm so Happy, pick it up Thursday,

Regards,
HSV*ROB

Well done Rob! I got your text this morning, better than the alarm clock!
It's not everyday you get a wake up call with HSV in it!!

Glad it's a 'real' Holden, means it sounds like a real V8!!! I still cannot get used to the way the LS1 sounds, sometimes prefer to sound of my old Chev, mind you I'd rather drive the Ute to the end of the earth as apposed to the Chev!

I hope all is well with you Karen and the girls, how's the history project coming on?

Catch you later mate, Trev

Yes mate, The new HSV's are by far better of course & the most awsome car I have ever driven was the 6.0L VXR (GTO) from Greens (thankyou). At the end of the day if I had the money it would have been a LS2 Monaro, but I'm still VERY HAPPY !!

You all may not agree, but I will try to explain it in my own FUNNY way. The new cars are more refined, quiet and more user friendly, as the VS 5.0L Sounds & feels more like a race car (in standard form) if you like.

On the test run we drove out of Gosford, up the hill, around the twisty corners through the mountains to the Freeway. This car was made for these type of roads, we (the car & I) loved them ! There is a 10 stacker CD player in the car, but that won't get much use while I'm driving. I just push the button in the centre consol that winds my window down, that's the best song for me.

As for the Daughters History lessons at school about Holden, The girls get the bus home from school, but I've been told that I can pick them up from school or TAFE (Colege) any day in the Clubby. They are learning fast and said to me how much the car means to Australians and how cool it is to be seen in a HSV.

Thanks for all your coments, Regards,
Rob. (HSV*ROB)

Glad to hear you bought yourself a HSV, and I tell you what, I'll let you drive mine if you let me drive yours..Although mine is only a V6, it's a newbie V6 though..will give you a run for your money, but the sound just doesn't even come close..haha

Take it easy mate, will give you a bell over the coming days.

G'Day Mate,

Ya glad I finally got one too !!

Be great to hear from ya, like to see ya car & yes they do go well (the new V6), I drove one to Melbourne in Dec, 190KW Hay, Mine WAS 185KW 9 yrs ago from Factory, but not that anymore, Extractors, cat back exhaust & prob some re-maping or re-chiped. Not sure what but goes quite well & don't have standard idle. Have to get it on a Dyno some time.

Wife took some good video of the car on weekend, took it to a quiet Ind estate to record the sound from take off. Just say had to back of some to staighten it up & save the Tyres. 2 Nice black lines though.

Hope to see ya soon,

Rob.
